Speculation: Matthew Tkachuk MEGA Thread (informs Flames he will not sign long term)

While I like his abrasive style - Tkachuk's little tricks around the net didn't work out too well this past playoffs.

When Flames were the #1 seed, and Av's the #8 seed a few years ago, I barely noticed Tkachuk on the ice during the 5 games they played. Was a complete non factor that year. I think Zadorov had a big hit on him in game 2 which might have been a factor.

A) I think Calgary wants to be good next year, they aren't just going to accept the largest futures package but if they are smart they will want some futures in any deal

B) Tarasenko we are lead to believe is unhappy and still wants to be traded, could see him agreeing to literally any team trying to win now.

No they didn’t lol. They speculated “hmm, NJ is willing to move the 2OA and Calgary has the contract situation Tkachuck. Could that be a base for a deal?”

No one reputable reported that the Devils actually offered 2OA for Tkachuck.
