He’s played with confidence since the start of camp and is getting rewarded for it. Time to sign a lease. Will be so fun to watch him develop. Seems to have the clutch gene if the past 2 games are any indication.
Ding, ding, ding. Right on spot. 100% agree.Being a RH shot (like Bergeron) it makes a ton of sense to try him on PP1 in Bergeron's old bumper spot.
The PP looks terrible with the LH Zacha in that spot.
Did you see Pasta roaming out to the right point/half wall there for a while?Being a RH shot (like Bergeron) it makes a ton of sense to try him on PP1 in Bergeron's old bumper spot.

Double book it!
He certainly seems to have the brain power for it.Being a RH shot (like Bergeron) it makes a ton of sense to try him on PP1 in Bergeron's old bumper spot.

The idea that I should not compare this kid to a young Bergeron is wrong to me. I’m not expecting a Bergeron like career. Sure would be nice but that is just an absurd trajectory to expect.
What I can say is that as a young player breaking in Bergeron was not the physical specimen he became. He was battling against bigger and stronger players. How did he make it work? He did it with creativity particularly along the wall. Sometimes inside, sometimes outside and when he got the puck he’d move it to the right place.
This is what Poitras does so well. He uses a creative approach to puck pursuit that highlights his strengths and allows him to overcome his physical shortcomings.
There was a play last night where he took the body on someone behind the net and stole the puck from them all in one move. It impressed me because there is no chance you see Bedard/Cooley doing that shit already, he seems so polished for his age.Poitras is by far the most impactful “all around game” prospect to emerge since Bergeron’s stunning arrival 20 years ago. The kid can shoot, pass, win faceoffs, has speed, plays a 200ft game, isn’t shy to hit or take one and I could likely go on and on.
I think the Bruins might of hit the jackpot with this one…..and how fitting that it was with a second rounder too.
That is an excellent article. Do you read Jack Han often. I’d never heard of him. You're not wrong. In fact, Jack Han is even talking about it too....
Matt Poitras...Bergeron 2.0?
In the wake of BOS' hot start, too many similarities to ignorejhanhky.substack.com
