We give up a lot of high quality chances
We give up a lot of high quality chances
It was so clear early on that the D was just pure trash around him. Inability to clear the crease, constant odd man rushes, just NO ONE was going to look good.
Goalie stats are very indicative of the TEAMS success, and always will be.
That's not to say Murray hasn't improved, because he has, but its obvious to everyone our D has improved as well.
This is Murray's second Pro team, ever, so its no surprise to me that there would be an adjustment process either.
Is it a surprise that he looks like a million bucks now, when we are playing night and day to where we were a week ago?
Unfortunately, we ain't getting Ws, but we are playing like we did last year, hanging in there with our opponents.
Phenomenal effort. Easily his best game yet. He was extremely composed.
Murray is a fundamental goalie. When he is on his game his angles and movements are exceptional. When he is gittery and distracted, he is all over the place--last 3 games has fell in the former.
Defense is playing better too since ZUB and Brannstrom are in .. that helps ALOT!It's actually incredible the difference from the beginning of the year until the last 3 games. He's giving the team a chance.
Murray’s been fantastic this month (besides that relief effort of Hogberg but I’ll let that one slide). Good to see him turning things around
893 sv% in February(so far). We have very different definitions of fantastic.
If we not counting that Toronto game, still .912 for this month. Which is quite good still not fantastic.
Note, I am not including the game he came in for 9 save relief.
I will say though, that breakaway save against Toffoli in OT was CLUTCH. That's all we can really ask for, to get the saves needed to win.
He is .908 sv% in Feb, removing the TO game puts him at .924.
Removing the 9 save releif would bring him to .904 in febYea, I believe that's including the 9 save relief he came in for. I counted the games where he was credited for win or loss

He had some clutch saves on Tuesday, but some weak goals as well. It was a battle of weak goals allowed between him and Carey, because both were making outstanding saves otherwise. Hopefully a solid game tonight.
Well, I should have read this first as I initially made my post to say this
Matt Murray
The 9 saves relief doesn't change much for his SV%, it's 9 saves out of 250, but it lowered his GAA since no GA in 34 mins
Didn't see any "weak goal" in my after game analysis. Maybe the Weber bullet because it was from a distance? The guy has a 100+ mph shot though
If I'd listen to HF, 50% of goals scored in the NHL are weak lol
A weak goal is Tkachuk's 2nd on Price, or Brannstrom's goal, or the 7th Toronto goal the other day, or the goals where Hogberg was totally out of position for no reason.
Pascal Leclair, the guy I pretty much bet my reputation on defending lol.Anyone else recall a goalie in franchise history that runs as hot and cold as Murray?
Man...
Don't recall Murray being really hot. At his best he was saving what had to be saved.Anyone else recall a goalie in franchise history that runs as hot and cold as Murray?
