I'm not going to debate the hockey merits because I only watched the Leafs like twice or three times -- whenever they played us -- and Martin didn't really stand out to me one way or another... Perhaps you watched all 82 Leafs games last year and are justified in thinking adding Martin to our roster is a downgrade..

My point was that we got Matt Martin for an ECHL player... so I think we won the trade, and I don't connect it to CdH because Taranna had 29 other outlets...

Who doesn’t like Matt Martin, but we need a top 6 center, defense and a goalie. We have signed 3 bottom 6 forwards and just traded for another one. Something better might be coming but I still think we have acquired too much crap in the last few days

We're definitely tanking. We need all these character guys to keep us afloat when we're out of it by Thanksgiving. Barzal has a ton of bodyguards now. They'll protect Hughes or whichever #2C that we draft next year too.
