I know u guys hate our fanbase but we really liked Martin and we are happy that he is back with u guys.. He and Marner had a great relation so now i believe he will protect Barzal.. Good trade for both teams u gave up nothing for him while we get the cap space..i.hope Lou is tanking so u can have Hughes and start over

We don't hate your fan base, we know there are a lot of good posters. It's Judas that we despise for ghosting us and your ignorant dumbass trolls that are so insecure that they harass us at every turn. This is our area and should be a sanctuary from those morons.
If you're capable of being respectful and have self awareness of where you are, then we have no problem with you.
Yes, most of us still love Martin and thrilled he's back.

He's obviously making a push for Karlsson which is going to cost us some scoring depth. I hate Gallof, but he brought up a good point that getting Karlsson while losing Tavares is a wash. Their GAR was virtually identical. I have a feeling Lou is just adding on to the bottom because we are going to lose a forward like Lee. We'll also most likely be taking on Bobby Ryan as well which isn't a huge issue either.
Figure something like NYI 2019 1st (no it won't be lottery protected), JHS, Lee and probably a defense prospect like Aho, MVS for Karlsson and Ryan. I agree in Gallof's opinion that the only way we don't trade for Karlsson is if he doesn't want to come here and the Sens don't want him in the same conference. If those two obstacles are overcome Lou will get him.

If we somehow get Karlsson it would all be worth it. If we retain Tavares there is no way we would be able to afford Karlsson regardless of what other assets we would have to give up and I think Karlsson >> Tavares for what he would bring to this team.

Love that Martin is coming back even if he is a little older. They should have never have let him walk in the first place and destroy the chemistry they had on that 4th line. They wasted 2 years trying to find a working solution to make that 4th line effective and no one was able to replace E=MC2.

Not at all. It's the Rangers fan base that gets under my skin. I visited Toronto 2 years ago, went the HOF and a Leafs/Isles game. Loved the entire experience. Fans were very knowledgeable and fun. They even were nice to me in my Isles gear. Losing JT stings, he might eventually learn the meaning of the phrase "Be careful what you wish for." But life goes on. I'm thrilled to get MM back. He's a class act, has a role, never takes a shift off and adds some toughness to what is a very soft team. Peace.

The more I think about this the more I like it. It would have been nice to dump a cap dump back to the Leafs like Greiss but Martin adds value to this team.
Lol. He was in NJ for a long time, did you not pay attention at all to what he was doing? How do you think Martin got to Toronto in the first place? What about the other guys he brought into Toronto. Roman Polak.

Furthermore, it will be funnier seeing all those guys creaming themselves over Trotz complain about his personnel decisions during the season (*Hint, he loves grinders, he loves vets). One of the many reasons the Caps were so much better this year is that Alzner did them a favor and moved on. Otherwise he'd still be playing day in and day out (along with Orpik).
This Lou worship has me sick, its more likely that he will ruin this team than bring it back to its glory. He's a dinosaur.

That dinosaur did a pretty good job in Toronto. And Trotz can throw a team of grinders out if he wins a Cup here like he did in Washington.
the pic of Matty Marts dog on the bed in the isles jersey? cannot help but think there may have been some beef between the 2, and i certainly believe this points out that the team tavares left behind wants to pound him the first time they see him in a game

I think what we are seeing is the real Lou Lamoriello.
I don’t think Lou had full autonomy in Toronto.. He was surrounded by Shanahan, Dubas, Hunter, Babcock, etc. who I would all classify as having sharp hockey minds.
Obviously Lou was able to do some of the things in Toronto that he is doing here (giving out 4 year deals to grinders and signing over the hill D), but I bet there were more guys that Lou wanted to bring in that his bosses vetoed.
Thus far, I’m very dissapointed in the roster decisions Lamoriello has made. Komarov and Martin are f***ing garbage for the money and term they have, and he gave a NMC to Filppula, which greatly hinders your ability to ‘filp’ him at the deadline.
I’ve come around a bit on the Hickey signing, but I felt like it would have been better at the end of the day to move on from him to send the message to the organization that last seasom was unacceptable from a performance standpoint.
When we hired Lou, I was hoping he was going to come in and look to unload the Clutterbuck contract, and instead he signed two bottom six/pairing players to add to Clutterbuck and traded for one of his own mistakes he made in Toronto, signifying he didn’t even learn from it.
When we hired him, he stressed how today’s game revolves much more around speed and skill, and even went further to say that the rules encourage this style of play, but his roster moves thus far show the EXACT opposite of where the game is going. You can suck and rebuild for the next season while still trying to find diamonds in the rough, not committing to four years of garbage

I have to admit being baffled by this when I got in my car from work last night. Mcadam if he could just get better coaching could turn into a good career back-up. Martin I didnt see the need however it looks like a pride move for the team. I dont know if anyone noticed that we signed our 3 round pick Jakub Skarek. I wonder if he will be kept in the Liiga for the season or brought to the ECHL to be Brideports 3rd string goalie now that McAdam has vacated the spot.

I agree that our coaching was pathetic, but literally every fanbase thinks their team isn't big or tough enough. It's is not hard to play against Matt Martin because it means you're in the offensive zone.

Many of my good friends are leafs fans. I think your org is very well run and your fans are some of the most passionate - as your post demonstrates, they aren't all rabid trolls. Many are knowledgable and respectful. Appreciate this post. No hatred here. Just the whole Tavares thing has fans blood heated
