Like I just heard on MvsW, small guys have to prove they can play in the NHL, big guys has to prove they can't.

He's finished with Metallurg, there's an NHL-clause in his contract. He's "on loan" right now because the contract doesn't expire until the end of the KHL season. Then he can do whatever he wants, and his agent Ryman actually told Norwegian media that other NHL-clubs are interested. But Zucc is an RFA though, Rangers can match any offer and keep him. If he returns to the KHL he will have to go back to Metallurg for another season.

That's like... what I said. Except he can't do whatever he wants.

Metallurg won't release him before he signs with an NHL club for next season, just to make sure he doesn't leave for St. Petersburg, or Salavat Yulajev or another league.

That's exactly how I feel it is too.

Someone just told me this:

Mats Zuccarello is not good enough for the NHL. He is to soft on the puck. A defensive liability, to weak in the corners, neither forechecks or backcheks, he is too small.

I heard this from a man I can rely on. His name was Jante, the origin of "The Law of Jante".

Google it.

So there, felles to get this resolved once and for all.

Fortunately he's half Sicilian:)
(Ref: Loffen's video above, he probaby complained to Phanteuf about a growing toothache.)

And this guy Jante, has always told him he is too small. Too small for get ligan, too small for Swedish SEL, and of course way too small to make it in NA.

There will be a shootout tonight, and the hobbit will save the Rangers once again

He didn't do anything bad either, but what the hell was going on with his lines? He was just randomly tossed into diffrent lines all game long. IMO you get the most out of Zuccarello when you put him with Nash or Richards, rather than Hagelin, Clowe or Boyle. It suits his style better to play with creative linesmate rather than players that are just really good at playing north/south hockey.

Not his best game, and his ice time was cut tonight...

Not his best, but IMO noone, except Hank had a good game. 14 mins for Zuke aint bad looking at this game.

People talk about snakebitten forwards who don´t score. In Zukes case his passes must be snakebitten :D It´s just unbelievable how his passes never gets buried. Today Steps shot that hit the post, and his pass to Boyle that gave him a clear chance was just fantastic.

Hank saved the Rangers from getting beat BIG tonight..... Could have easily have lost with 4-5 goals.

And I just hate this line juggling. Zucc seemed to play in a new line in every shift.

Why does he not play powerplay 5-4 in the end of 3 rd period and 4-3 in OT ? He was never on 4 on 4 in OT either. I thought he was brought in to improve the PP. Torts jingle with the lines too much

Zooks was no worse than most the team. Actually he was a bit better than most the forwards. He gave the puck to Nash for a nice rush. He hit Boyle in stride to draw a penalty. Torts is Torts. Zooks is going to have to earn his minutes every game. He will not get the kind of long leash that some other players get.

Well zuke carried the puck out of the zone and sent it to Richard and Boyle. Both times the Rangers got a pp. So imo Zuke played a good game :)

2 points in 8 games don´t look very good... But it´s not like the other top forwards are putting up the points either, except for Nash and Stepan.

Hagelin 2 in 9
Richards 5 in 9
In 12 of Callys last games, he is pointless in 10.... But his 4 points in one game against Winnipeg helps his stats.

I believe Torts see what most people see, what Zuke does on the ice and what he creates, and not to much looking at the numbers.

This is a low scoring team. Not even Nash has a point/game.

He just has to be positive and keep going. He creates chances, haven´t made one single big mistake as far as I can remenber. And the most impressive is that he has not been on the ice on one single goal against since his return. Wouldn´t be surprised if he soon gets a multi point game where his team mates actually starts to score on his passes.

That said, I think Zuke should shoot way more. Especially on the power play. He always seem to look for the opportunity to pass. He is a playmaker, and it is instinct to pass, but he should be more selfish and blast the puck at goal. He actually has a good slapshot.

Seems he took a shot yesterday.

Haven't seen any footage from the game, just his stats. Seems he had a goal, but was on the ice for two even strength goals against?

Did anyone see it and have a view on how he played?

He had an overall good game. Could have done more on the first goal, should have scored when he got the puck all alone in the slot, but picked up a nice goal, played with energy, and could do nothing about the empty netter. One of our better forwards last night imho.

Nice goal.

Other than that, meh. I hate him on the PP point and think thats a huge waste of time. He was also overmatched physically in what was a very physical game.

Zuke is probably the best passer on the team and should be on the point alot more than guys like Del Zaster who will constantly make stupid decisions with or without the puck, or Girardi who can't connect a pass to save his life. Since Richards forgot how to play hockey, the only options left are Strålman, Zuke and Brassard.
