I guess any opinion you disagree with is a lie.

He's a plus player with 23 takeaways and 11 giveaways over 61 games. Stats don't tell the whole story, but too claim he's been bad defensively is a real stretch.

You are wasting your time. I believe he made up his mind before we signed the kid. Zooks has been on the ice for 1 (non empty net) goal in 9 games. If he was so terrible defensively that would be almost impossible.

Don't understand why they use him at the point at all. He's much better closer to the net. When it comes to his performance, didn't see last night but all of the rest and think he's been one of the top three attackers in pretty much every game, and don't expect play off games to be much different than these games? They're all do or die.

He is very good at moving the puck around, that is why he is up there.

I think he is good at the point. I know he can blast from there but he does not shoot his slapshot. I would like to see him on the side boards as well because he has done well there in the past. I feel it is a waste when he just stands in front of the net.

That's probably because he'd spend very little time actually standing.

I'm not saying he's underachieving. I'm saying he's not the player that many here would have you believe. Top passers/playmakers make the players around them better (Jagr gave Kip Miller a career. Crosby is giving Pascal Dupuis a career). Zuccarello has skill — no doubt — but he also has as many points as John Moore (in two more games).

Can't help but ask who are the "many" and what is it they would have me believe and if they do have me believing then why is that bad? Because a lot of people love Zuke but I see a lot of tempered expectations and I can't see anything wrong with that...

I have to agree, not liking him on the PP point. Those spots should be reserved to defenders that can walk the line (even slow ones like Markov) or high end skating players with offensive creativity. He should be utilized on the right side half-wall where he can set up some nice cross seam passes, which he did twice last night, but both directly to Clowe's stick.

Zucc is a solid 3rd line winger. A below average 2nd line winger. He's been a good player for us, some of you guys are a little too harsh on here. He's shown more jump, effort, and JAM than Callahan has in the past 10 games. I hope they re-sign him to play on the 3rd line next year

I i like him on the point and think he is more than a third line player. He creates every game and constantly sets up good chances. A major reason he doesn't have that many points is because his linemates don't finish.

I like his energy and How much better he'd become since the last time here. But i'd like him to shoot more..

If he'd been with us more than 2 weeks, the points would've been there - team and line chemestry takes time..

But honestly, Who on our team has really produced this year? Nash...not as much as we'd like.Cally...no...Scoreless in how many games now? Hags..no..small doses here and there but not lately.kreider..no..this year he'd been all hype and no show..

Close to everyone has an of season for us..

The last thread was split between 'he will help on the PP' and 'he is too small and not good enough'.

In addition to people talking about how he was wronged by the the Rangers, overestimating his trade value, YouTubes of goals scored against inept defenses here are some samples:

Adding Zooks could give the team 3 lines that are a threat plus help the power play.

I heard Zuccarello is on his way to improve Rangers powerplay

He can play 12-15 minutes a game on the 3rd or 4th line but more importantly give some creativity to the powerplay. He is not a superstar but there is nothing wrong with him being a 40-50 point player.

He already has shown he is good for. 5 points per game as a rookie. That is already 41 points a year in limited playing time

Zuccarello could do just fine and he would VERY helpful right now given the lack of depth

[He's] fast with a great wrist shot to back it up. Great eye for play development. PP skills. We need him.

3 points in 4 playoff games including a game winner??? That is good enough for me!!! Sign him Slats!!!

I remember the PP looking pretty good when he was on it.

He really was a PP wizard

there is no doubt that MZA improves the power play.

Not getting Zucc back would be a huge mistake. He would add so much.

what forwards do we have that actually are better hockey players than him? Nash, Cally, Stepan (?), Gabby (?), Hagelin and ? Richards?

At least Zuccs would provide offense

1 mill is no brainer for Zooks since he has shown he is good for .5ppg.

If we sign zucc, we get a lot. Creativity, skills on pp

PP alone he is going to help.

Zuccarello is a PP specialist

The majority of the talk was of adding offensive creativity. And I guess there has been some of that — but it's not translating into points. I'm not blaming him solely for that.

The other main talk was of him helping out the powerplay. But we're talking about a guy who has 12 career points on the PP.

Look, it was a low-risk move that has shown marginal impact so far. I've said, I think he's been better than his last stint but where is the offense? He plays hard which is nice, but I feel he's getting a pass on his lack of offensive production so far.

I thought everyone here understood that getting points is not vital in Torts Stoneage hockey philosophy. Providing JAM, blocking shots, dumping the puck, grinding and contributing to a league worst PP are factors that are premiered and vehementally worshipped. I admit that Zuccarello is not at all 100% in achieving all these given attributes at once, but he is slowly getting there. The transformation of the Hobbit has begun, Lord save us from this Evil.

"We do not practice offense" ~ some bonehead that claims to be a coach

This occurred the last time he was brought up. Some of his passes are SO good, that his teammates are not ready for them. Torts commented on that last year I believe. It takes time to gain that comfort with another player.

He has been getting some chances and creating chances. He has been stealing pucks, back-checking, controlling the puck and the play during his shifts. I would say he has been one of the Rangers better and more consistent offensive threats since he came back.

True. The only ones close to consistent producing are Nash and Stepan, but not even Nash has a point/game. He should.

If you look at the stats of key players, I would say they are bad numbers.

A player like Ryan Callahan are .54 this season. He is pointless in 10 of his last 13 games.

Carl Hagelin has 3 point in his last 3 games (2 in one game), and is .48 so far this season.

Zuccarellos .33 is not good enough, I admit to that, but it is not like any other players are putting up the points. I still think Zuke has been on of the best on the team since his return. Has created chances and putting up passes out of this world. With normal efficiency from himself on scoring chances and especially from his teammates on his passes, he could easily have had 7-8 points so far.

The point is that the whole team is struggling on the offense, and this shows in the numbers for all players.

Zuccarellos .33 is meaningless given sample size. Even other guys in 40 game samples are not completely there yet but way more so than Zucc

Tiger you are right his .33 points per game this season is not the .5 points per game I expect but its a 9 game sample size for a guy that had not played in a month before he came over. The sample size means he is a whopping 1.5 points away from being on his normal .5 ppg. Nobody said he would get exactly 4.5 points every 9 games but over time he has and he will average around .5PPG

People that make that distinction about the "missing" 1.5 points are really grasping at straws considering this team has only scored 3 goals in its last 2 games plus overtime.

He also helped win us a game getting the only goal in a shoot out.
