I wish Marty was 6 years younger...I love him.

Hopefully Frodo follows in his path

Without a doubt we lose that series without MSL.

Overall he was engaged more than any other player in the series as a whole.

His ice time reflects that.

There is good reason for you to have this opinion. So many things would have been different that it's logical to assume this could have been a difference maker for us. Maybe not THE difference maker but certainly he was one of them. Imo if it wasn't for the D's lame efforts we'd have won in 5 in large part b/c of MSL

I thought that night in and night out the best player on the ice was Dom Moore.

Don't know about our best player.

I think he was the best night in and night out at what he does well. But I don't think he was our best player.

I really forget how good a player he was in the role he plays.

For what is asked of him, he delivers in spades.

He was acquired to be THE difference maker.

You think that the D is the reason why the Rangers did not win in 5? REALLY?

I think he was acquired becuase the opportunity presented itself.

I think we could have won it 6, and that game was mostly on the D. But that just means they weren't outstanding for one game, not suggesting that the D sucks or is sub-par in ANY way. They just didn't get it done that night.

I can't find that quote from Sather. Please help.

Here you go:

Glen Sather said:
He is going to be THE difference maker. It's important when you quote me to make sure "the" is capitalized. And make sure my second "the" is in quotes. Actually every "the" needs to be in quotes. Except the first one. And that one. Capitalize the first one. Crap I just said the again. And again.

Next time do your own research. We aren't your secretaries.

MSL, with 6 points in 7 games while absolutely dominating play while he was on the ice.

I would say that's a pretty big difference-maker.

Really don't understand how you can't be happy with MSL's play in the series.

Every player can always be better. You can literally always say "He could be better" and never be wrong.

cally - 4 games in the playoffs = 0 points. his team got swept. (forget the goalie situation)
msl - 7 games in the playoffs = 6 points and his team advances to at least the 2nd round.
38 years of age or not, i like it.

anyway. let's go rangers. much more at stake than internet points!
got some games to win!

He's supposed to be more than that.

But he was more than that. He had a good series and was the leading scorer in that series. Especially considering he got screwed out of a legitimate point by a ****ed call by the ref on a goal that should never have been blown dead. None of us can overturn a horrific call, but if that goal wasn't utterly butchered by the ref MSL was a PPG player in round one.

The dude is playing well. He enables us to more effectively ice scoring which is spread through the forward lines and makes the team much harder to contain/defend. Take him off line one last series and consider what happens in terms of the lineup and how much easier we are to defend against. Plain and simple, we're much more difficult to defend against and much more difficult for the opponent to match up against with him on the roster.

He plays like he just turned 30. Guy is a freak of nature from head to toe.

To some degree, yeah. They were absolutely horrid game 6, and if McDonagh had been his usual dynamic self, we'd probably have won in less games with his back-end offense. Probably.
