True, someone will get desperate. The problem is that desperate someone could be Blake if he waits until then.

Sure, it’s a game of chicken. However the market is very strong for sellers, particularly those unloading a Dmen that is affordable and under contract for another year.

I thought we got a good return for Mr. Cupcake, I’m just wondering with the market being a very strong sellers market for a Dmen, why are we dumping Amart a week before the deadline? Someone will get desperate.

Desperate enough to acquire Forbort for a 2nd? :thumbu:

Scandella went for a 2nd and conditional 4th today. Jeebus.

Rental prices are high this year.

Blake says they evaluate what the player is worth and when they are offered it, they make the deal.

IF the New Jersey 2021 2nd rounder is part of this deal, then there's really no reason to wait longer. If you wait, Vegas might look elsewhere and then you've lost that opportunity. As far as 2nd rounders go, that is a very unique asset.

So long Jazz Hands. Gonna miss ya! But this team needs to get better and we need the picks. This noncompete from this team caused this mess so time to burn it all to the ground. You've been nothing but absolutely classy so thanks for everything!

2 x 2nd rounders and a roster player or a solid prospect.

Once Clifford and Kovy moved I don't care anymore.

Trade em all.

See you Marty, thanks for the picks.

I think the hold up is with Vegas. They are sending guys down because they are at the cap.

The Knights sent down Glass and Whitecloud to the AHL the last two days, taking their roster to the NHL minimum of 20. That also means today's CAP space available to them is $3.995 million. Alec Martinez's CAP hit is $4.0 million. You wait one more day and the CAP space is available to finish the trade.
Damn I wanted Whitecloud as well... Looks like thats not happening

With our luck we hold on for a few extra days and someone gets hurt. Marty plays a hard game and has had injuries. He blocks shots steady and plays lots of minutes.

he is starting to regress. Age is starting to show. I love him for what he has given to us and he will give us the gifts of picks to rebuild.

Blake has played this deadline very smart. It’s not like he is the only GM jumping the deadline.

Korczak (a second round pick) and 2 second rounders would be a hell of a return. I'm not getting my hopes up on that one.

Interesting if it's Korczak, Vegas traded up for him at last year's draft. I dropped by that prospect tournament in September and caught Vegas/Colorado. Knee jerk thought was that he was steady, nothing too flashy offensively. His numbers have gone up this year as Lassi Thomson left Kelowna to play in Finland, so Korczak's gotten a healthy dose of PP time.

It's suppose to be very good.

I like the direction of the team and youth movement but man I would have liked to keep Martinez. We are going to need veteran dmen but I’ll wait to see what Blakey does . Competition for skilled prospects is a good thing and realistically not all of them will be NHLers nor will all of them be Kings, the right ones will help transition us into a better skilled team to be able to roll 4 lines like Carolina who have lots of homegrown talent throughout the lineup and a deep balanced team and some of them will be used for trades to improve and bring us players to put us over the hump like Carter and Richards .

Blakey says phase 2 now begins so we will be playing and developing the prospects now . Can’t wait to see what next year looks like that will be telling and maybe following year we can make the playoffs

Yes, his numbers look good this season.

He’s a big boy at 6’3” 190 lbs and he’s only going to add more weight.

I’m intrigued.

If that’s what Blake gets for Martinez I’d be ecstatic . The vision is in full effect if that’s what Martinez returns . We need skill and balance throughout lineup and I like our chances of competing again for playoffs in 2 years with the prospects we have . Carolina is a great example of what I imagine I want our team to resemble all homegrown talent and depth throughout lineup. Carolina just needs a goalie and they can win a cup .
