The reason they don't agree could be that they're scared. Not making a move doesn't mean they are scared it means they just don't agree that what you think should happen is the best way forward.

I agree it would be bold although with so many asking for a change the bold move may be to not make any move.Could be.
They quite also could be scared. I don't even think scared is the right word. But you do need to be bold to make a change. Especially with a fan favourite, or cornerstone of the franchise.
The only 3 options would really be Matthews, Nylander or Marner. Not sure JT or Rielly would make all that much of a difference.

Obviously a trade isn't happening and walking from Nylander would have been the first change if that was in the plans.
Who was the last high end player in their prime that a Team let walk away? I'm sure it's happened but I can't think of one.
It's difficult to seperate fact from fiction when it comes to the Leafs. Apparantly the Leafs did ask around about Nylander and the return wasn't where they wanted it to be.I agree it would be bold although with so many asking for a change the bold move may be to not make any move.

Who knows if they asked about Marner?
I can think of examplea in other sports of stars walking away and maybe JT or Petro would be the 2 biggest names I can think of but it doean't happen all that often.
