Exemple his 1st goal was great gm 6, but do rhe same exact play against pastrnak and unstead of a goal with the same play, its a breakaway against with his risky play at blue line. It was worling against beecher but would not working against a pastrnak or marchand

The 55% of time he played against opposite top, he been on the ice for 1 goal for and 1 against

So the real question, reverse the situation by using Nylander 81% vs opposite top 6 and marner only 55%. Who will get the most succes?

I more so agree with you, but we can’t pretend like everyone loves Nathan Mac. Some of his own teammates despise him and past teammates have publicly said he’s too extreme. That comes with being great though. Leadership is pretty subjective. What one person views as leadership could be what another views as not good leadership.

At the end of the day, winning matters.

Look at MJ, he ain’t the nicest guy but he won a lot and players played with him respected him and those played against him feared him.

Look at Kobe.

Look at the leaders in the past Cup winners, Tkachuk and Barkov, Marchessault and Stone, Mack and Landy, Kuch and Hedman, ROR and Schenn….

Compare apples to apples. look at Matthews best game vs Boston (withour Marner on his line of course)
vs Marners. Note all Marners looked bad, this one has a goal so i chose it. Believe it or not, rhis is one of the good ones for Marner. He has one game with no shots at all, and another game with 2 shots, and both locations shouldnt even be called shots. These include pp!

To get things started, I have to say I liked Marner's recent interview. It felt down-to-earth, without any attitude or entitlement, just like any other player speaking. Nice job.

As we all knew, that was a complete crock - it was clearly Matthews and Nylander who took issue with Marner crying and called him out on it. I heard the audio this morning - clear as day but I’m sure the spin doctors will be here to “correct” me on this and tell me what I heard clear as day.

Clearly, all our problems are rooted in Mitch Marner.

I mean, he is the sole reason we have lost every year in the playoffs. Yes, he is our leading playoff point producer out of the core, but that is irrelevant. He is only productive because he plays with Matthews. Now he did put up a 94 pt season without him, but that was all Tavares. Selke? He didn't even win it. Nylander yelled at him so that is proof he is terrible. His play is especially poor because of what he is paid. He should have handed himself a cheaper contract. I know most of us at work are super eager to ask our bosses to pay us less. Why can't he?

100%, we are a better team by simply letting him go to one of the 31 teams that would be lined up to sign him on July 1st. The only question left would be, who do we blame next?

Matthews and Marner are heading toward the Thorton and Marleau direction, lol. Then again, they actually won playoffs rounds when they played together in their prime.

Personally, Matthews and MM needs to split up in order for the Coach to build a more balanced line up. They should stop caring about individual stats and focus on getting the W.
One of the reason why they can’t win in playoffs and just choked is mainly because they are so used to playing regular season hockey.

Why do coaches put their best shut down players against the other teams best players if it not relevant. Answer because it is very relevant
