If anyone praised him it’s because he performed well and didn’t get pushed out. That’s kind of big difference and it’s the only knock on Marner’s on ice performance.Sure, but the team was stacked and Eichel basically was Marner. Barely scored any goals and had a bunch of primary assists so it’s funny how we praise Eichel for that type of performance but shit on Marner for doing the same. Eichel had 6 goals in 22 playoff games and I don’t think he scored any goals in the last two rounds of the playoffs.
Same thing with Matthew Tkachuk last year. Goal scoring was non existent, racked up assists but he’s looked at as a playoff GOAT. While Reinhart, Verhaghe and Bennett did all the heavy lifting
