He was right around a point a game his first two seasons then he got hurt and since he recovered he’s been at more like a 100 point pace. That is ONLY 1 season. This season.
Sample size, sample size. Marner has multiple 90
Point seasons. Pettersson has been a bust his entire career up until this 70 games.

The guy won the Calder with 66 points in 71 games.
You ignored what he said.pts/gp since 2019:

Difference between 101pts and 81pts average per season. EP is younger, but sample size matters.
One thing EP has gotten much better at is defence, so that moves the needle closer. If EP can repeat and eclipse Marner's totals again (while playing more meaningful hockey next season), I think this comparison becomes more interesting.
as did voters for the ASGSame quality and more important position.
To be fair a horde of leafs fans had Campbell ahead if demko last November.

...and still produces more.Hard to argue with Marner’s consistency in the regular season the past few years. Pettersson looked like he would become the player he is this season from the start but he had some hiccups getting there. I do believe this is who he is going to continue to be, which is a similarly valuable player. One thing that’s stood out with Pettersson to me is his willingness to go to the net and along the boards and battle it out despite a general strength disadvantage over his career. That was very evident in the bubble playoffs as well. I haven’t seen Marner show that same willingness to go to the dirty areas in the playoffs, and it’ll be interesting to see if he can have a big run this year.

Pettersson has more than half of Marner's playoff points in a single playoff season lmao
Wonder how many more he will put up this year.............
Laughing at the audacity in light of the fact that Pettersson has failed to lead his team into the playoffs in 4 of his 5 years.Pettersson has more than half of Marner's playoff points in a single playoff season lmao
Pettersson plays in every situation and plays betterReally didn't expect Marner to be losing this.
EP is a great player and I like his development as he matures but Marner is the straw that stirs the drinks in Toronto. Runs the PK, runs the PP and generally runs 5v5 play as well. I get how you would take the center over the winger but calling Marner just a winger is selling him way way short.
I don't think soPettersson plays in every situation and plays better
Marner
I haven’t watched Petterson this year but I always thought he was overated.
