Very close for me. Right now Marner, but wouldn’t surprised to see EP surpass him in the few years

He already has a pretty big sample size of this season and the last 35 games last season once he got his legs underneath him.

The thing about EP40 is that he elevates other players and has made both Beauvillier and Mikheyev look like solid top 6 wingers this year and no matter who plays with EP he just keeps the train rolling in Vancouver.

It'd an unfair comparison bc marner had the highest iq and vision in the league ND currently does EVERYTHING and plays like a CENTER. NO ONE in the league is doing that
 
Mitch has been the best player this year on a team that's been top 5 pretty much the whole season. He's a stud on both ends of the ice and has been the driver of every line he's on.

Marner really did step up since Matthews is having a down year. I would probably have him in the Hart race if it weren't for Rantananen doing the same thing but slightly better (this season).

I think it’s a great poll that’s pretty much even. Petey is slightly younger and a C so I take him but the real answer is either or.

Marner has the track record
Pettersson I could see cracking the century mark this season

Dangerous on the PK
good even strength
Probably two of the higher IQ players in the league

People don't watch the games. They hockeyDB both players then conclude they are close so center > winger.

Ignores Marner being the best pker in the league and how truly good he is in a defense first system

How did you determine MM is the best PKer in the league, or just thought you’d type that.

Also Leafs poster authentic yesterday told us, only random 4th line players, play on the PK.
 
I gotta say, I am really impressed by Pettersson’s season so far. Marner has been doing it for a couple of years though, gotta go with the more proven guy. Also, Marner is the better all around player, even as a winger.

So? There are millions of leaf fans I don't care what a random dude said in a random argument. You think we attend meetings and align our thoughts or something?

When I talk to people in the real world, it's funny how different it is from online.

- A lot of Leaf fans like the Islanders and don't have baggage from JT move
- A lot of old school Bruins fans actually like the Leafs and looooathe the Habs.
- Very few of them waste a single moment of their lives concerning themselves with whether other people will acknowledge one player is better than the other.

HF is just an intense place. Not even sure I would call it a community with all the vitriol that's bred here.
