Aren't you the guy that pretends to be a Habs fan full time here? Lmfao pipe down crodie.

He is. That guy spent most of his time on hfboards as a Leafs fan openly posting as such. Then one day, after the Habs passed on Michkov for Reinbacher he full time devoted this account to pretending to be a Habs fan and trolling the Habs fans and main boards by being overly critical of the Habs in every scenario.

I can't possibly imagine what kind of creature devotes their time to something like that.

Lol

These teams are run by competent people, simple as that. Taxes were not invented in 2017. Before that, California teams had a pretty good run too.

Instead of focusing on taxes, focus on the fact that these teams have nice weather. Funny coincidence that too ain't it?

I mean the weather probably helps too

Lol Vegas is absolutely stacked from top to bottom.... Bettman is getting his way but as a long time fan now seeing how low tax states are winning every year with an incredible advantage... im losing interest. There has only been one season since 2017 where a low tax state wasn't in the finals. Eichel signed for 13.5 million, one month after Kaprizov signed for 17 million. 3.5 million to upgrade a different area of your team is huge.

Marchand even admitted it and said that the advantage meant Panthers kept two additional players that otherwise they wouldn't have.
lol now it’s Bettman’s fault? What tf does Bettman have to do with MITCH MARNER’S hat trick?

Crazy how the leafs are at the bottom of the league and yet all anyone can talk about is Toronto during the Stanley cup finals

I am envious that they have the most popular team in the league by far and it’s not even close.
Idk bro people have had the time to circlejerk dunk on my team when our captain requested a trade

Lots. Carolina is punching way above its weight. Vegas is absolutely stacked, very well built team who also has a huge advantage of paying their players ALOT less.

Remember when Dougie Hamiltons said it wasnt fair?

This low tax team sh#* is making hockey less interesting. Who wouldnt want to go to a team, take home more money and have better chances at a cup?

Vegas had 8 olympians and wouldve had 9 if not for Harts assault case.

Put Mackinnon or Matthews or Mcdavid on this roster and they are running roughshod.

VGK is now two GA away from going down 2-1 in the series.

What will the new excuse be to explain why Marner isn’t actually good?

But then you also have a lot more money left over to build solid depth around your superstars.
You’re posting this in a topic about a guy that just signed for 12M on a board where everyone lost their minds about how much of an overpayment that was

I think it was to be expected he'd have more success with a better playoff team in Vegas, but I'm convinced playing hero a couple times in OTs for team Canada in the last year boosted his confidence in big moments.

It's obviously not the only factor but surely helps.

What will the new narrative be to explain why Marner isn’t actually good?

Reporter to Marner in Florida series: "Berube wants you to shoot more."

Marner: scoffs "I get pucks to sticks down low, thats my game"

Marner was too entitled in Toronto to go into the slot.

18 mins diff in these maps.

Do you not see a difference? Did Leaf fans make him not go into the slot?

Not sure wtf this has to do with my question. You’re arguing against points I’m not making. I’m on record as saying the “mean leafs fans” narrative is utter bs.

You said the narrative was that he wasnt good. Noone said he wasnt good. It was he was too afraid of the dirty areas, too mentally fragile and not on the same tier of players he was paid like.

His stats show hes going to the dirty areas now.

Cassidy said recently that Marner would get angry and emotional and he had to calm him down and tell him he needed to be a veteran and go and talk it out with players. He siad "I like to think Marner grew int his area (in Vegas)."

Leaf fans hated him on the PP because he held the puck too long and killed the PP. Cassidy said he thought Marner holds the puck too long. Torts came in and said he thinks the PP the passing is too slow and he briefly took Marner off the PP. He then switched him to down low.

Literally everything Leaf fans complained about has been confirmed in Vegas and theyve also worked to change it. We also have evidence of Marner publically disagreeing when Leaf coached tried to do what Vegas coaches have succeeded doing.

Also, Marner is on a stacked low tax team instead of playing the stacked low tax team.
