Marner said the number 1 pp should have got off and not been so selfish.

We saw the same thing in OT vs was it Ottawa when Matthews was on for a really long shift.

This team isn't going to be a real team until the leaders start making the rest of the guys feel like they are important parts of the team.

The kid is a Pejorative Slured genius savant. I think this kid has a desire to win, obviously his junior resume speaks for itself, but I think he feels like he needs to do it his way. Dude doesn't realize if he simplifies his game his numbers will probably explode.

I said the same of the Oilers before their turnaround last year. You can't have a handful of stars and a deep NBA bench full of mercenaries.

So just circling back on this... clearly those comments actually broke Marner. Thinking he could use some time on a line that does not include Matthews or JT for a week or so to figure out his game.

He has had a couple WOW moments, but his overall game is not good. Soooo many turnovers and needless risky plays.

When things get real, we are going to need him to be his best self... this ain't it.

Marner scores a shitload while also showing a positive goal differential year over year. If your premise is that Marner is holding the team back, you are going to have to do better than glib descriptions of a globetrotter style that hurts the team
Being a positive goal differential player year over year doesn't mean you don't play a reckless style of play. You just convert more than you give up. In a playoff series however with that small a sample size and margin for error it doesn't matter, one mistake can end a series and you don't get the luxury of a long season to even it out.

Very disappointed in the visuals of Marner during Salming intro Friday night. He and some others needed to feel and display. He looked bored. Hope I am wrong.

He was saying it in reference to the team
Sure, that's why I said "not to pick on Mitch" alone, there.. but he was the only one saying it, right..?

And it still holds true. If anyone has to say it, then they're probably frontin'.. Micheal Jordan didn't have to say he was the best.. he just was. Funny guys don't have to tell you they funny.. they just are. And men don't usually have to tell you they're men.. you just already know.

I’m not sure that there has ever been a comment made by a player taken more out of context than this one.

Hahaaaaaa!! Ok, Mr. hyperbole.

Didn't mean to hurt anyone's feelings, here. Eeesh.. Bottom line still is, "We're grown men!" doesn't ever need to be said. Just be one and you won't have to.

 You really don’t get it do you?

another bad game from marner

yes yes we get it he has a bajillion secondary assists. so what.
Have we gotten to "we don't care about goals OR primary assists" yet? I feel like it's soon.

We won't even talk about whether we care how many times he turns the puck over.

He's too weak and inexperienced to play D at the NHL level. If he gets untimely delay of game penalties as a winger shooting the puck over the glass how much will that increase playing D? Plus his slap shot is too weak and he will give the puck away more. Keefe should just have said "no....you just don't have the right stuff for that, Mitch, so get back to your wing!" I give Marner credit for trying though. If he likes trying something different, maybe try him at C for a few practices and games with Tavares as one of his wingers.
