I don't blame Marner for the hook ... That's a desperation play

Matthews made a terrible play up the ice that led to the 2-on-1...he shot the puck into a bunch of CBJ skates while being behind them instead of actually making a proper pass to Marner.

It's an infraction on what was deemed a clear break, why wouldn't it be allowed?

That said; shame on the refs and blatant anti-leaf officiating twice in the playoffs agasint the bruins, entire regular season last year with hardly any PPs and again this season and Shanny+Dubas don't have the balls to call out the obvious

Well, we were playing with fire in this one.

I was swearing already when Matthews and Marner had a perfect opportunity to change, and decided to stay on instead. I admire the will to win it, but you have to be smarter than that. Couldn't keep up with the counter-attack, and tired minds do dumb things.

Not sure if we actually had any standouts in this game, other than Matthews.

Nice to get a little glimpse of our PP at least. I think Willy looked surprisingly good in the middle. I was sure he would look lost there, he's never had that knack for finding soft scoring areas.

Glad I'm not the only one who thought this. Matthews was heading off the ice and then he's on again, and the next thing you know the puck is headed towards our zone and Matthews is completely gassed and can't catch up to the play.

Complain about the refs all you want guys but we didn't play well enough to win, that's the bottom line. Not even close.

Mikheyev looks good though so there is that.

Gauthier gets cross checked by Jones and knocked down moments before Jones then trips Johnssen was incredible baffling.

I almost never complain about the refs, but these last two games have been horrendous. You have to call it the same way for both teams.

Yup, watched the play, saw him stumble and make that a 2on 1 instead of the 2on2 thatit should have been. Also saw the horrific first goal on a lazy play that he's making too much.

and he made up for it with the terrific shorthanded assist, just like Matthews made up for his poor defense on the 2nd goal with his goal. The leafs line should have changed, they were gassed, but kept on playing. Marner was pushed off and tried getting back into the play. I get shitting on marner when he has a poor game. But he was good tonight. Had multiple scoring chances he created . Him and Matthews together did not work well.

Yep I'm seeing this too... Last year they were golden at locking it down.

This year is a tough start. Possibly expected with as much turnover on the roster.

Officials were fine. They let it go both ways.

Stick on the hands disrupting a clear cut breakaway is a penalty shot every time. He had to call that.
