Post-Game Talk: Marner loses it, 4-3 OT

Well, we were playing with fire in this one.

I was swearing already when Matthews and Marner had a perfect opportunity to change, and decided to stay on instead. I admire the will to win it, but you have to be smarter than that. Couldn't keep up with the counter-attack, and tired minds do dumb things.

Not sure if we actually had any standouts in this game, other than Matthews.

Nice to get a little glimpse of our PP at least. I think Willy looked surprisingly good in the middle. I was sure he would look lost there, he's never had that knack for finding soft scoring areas.

Still a joke call. Much more obvious calls weren't made in the last 15 minutes, but they were all against Columbus, so they weren't call.

If refs could me more obvious they had money riding on a game, I'd like to see it.

I wholeheartedly agree with this. I think it’s highly unlikely that games are fixed, but the squeaky wheel gets the grease. There have been some very questionable non calls against the leafs not only the last 2 games but the last few years. The leafs are way to fast and skilled of a team to not be getting powerplays.

did you watch that play? Matthews with the terrible shot into the opposing player's pad leads to a 2 on 1 rush where marner and rielly are gassed, he hooks the guy on the 2 on 1 and the refs give a penalty shot for a play that was a common occurence in the third. Marner had a strong game, played well with Kerfoot. He did not play good with Matthews. This game was lost due to momentum swing from the penalty calls.

Marner is generally awesome but I don't think AM34 & Marner play thaat well together. Would have preferred AM34 + Nylander in OT, and Marner with Kerfoot or someone else.

Everyone stfu about Marner, kid was gassed and skated his ass off to try to make the defensive play and got caught with one of the WEAKEST penalty shot calls I’ve ever seen in my life. Shouldn’t have even been a penalty. Babs has to call out the refs. Has to.

Yup, watched the play, saw him stumble and make that a 2on 1 instead of the 2on2 thatit should have been. Also saw the horrific first goal on a lazy play that he's making too much.

Refs were bad, but you're not winning much with your two highest paid players costing you like they did tonight.
