Who said anything about parking in the driveway?

15 Toyotas vs a Ferrari would depend on what we're doing with them. If we're talking about a race, Ferrari wins. If it's demolition derby, the Ferrari doesn't stand a chance. For straight up value (let's say for arguments sake we're converting them into cash), Toyota wins - depending on the exact model, the resale value of the Toyotas is much higher than the Ferrari.

I think my original offer made more sense than yours, though I could see arguing it either way. I'd maybe simplify it and make it just Marner/Murray for Panarin/Shesterkin. I added the others just to balance out salary but it probably made the proposal worse and the salaries are close as it is so that's my suggestion.

You think Rangers laugh at that proposal but I'm not sure I'd even do that from the Leafs POV. Shesterkin isn't established enough IMO that his value is that high, other than Vasilevsky, there's not another goalie that I value that highly. It's not out of the question that Murray outplays him this season and Marner is easily worth more than Panarin and if that happens, Rangers win the trade by a landslide.

I think your deal makes a lot more sense without the addons. Marner for Rantanen, wouldn't be surprised if both teams said no.

Not fixated on anyone. You asked for a proposal involving Marner, I was bored so to kill some time I came up with one. I also happen to think that Marner/Murray for Panarin/Shesterkin IS an interesting proposal.

If I'm not mistaken, I'm the only one who's responded to your request and given you a proposal so far so I don't see that you any reason to be upset with me. I'm just not interested in going further down this rabbit hole since Marner's not being traded anyway, my work day is over, the game is starting soon (Raptor game also) so if you want more proposals maybe ask someone else?

2) Rantanen season point totals are comparable (Rantanen ppg is slightly higher since 2017)
3) Rantanen scores more goals than Marner
4)Rantanen is huge and occasionally hits opponents but size is obviously an advantage
5) Rantanen averages more goals per game
6) Rantanens cap hit is 1.8 less than Marner.

And the only one being condescending here is you calling my proposal "dubious". You don't like my proposal and that's fine, I don't much like yours either, no need to get upset. It's also pretty funny that you're complaining about me answering the question, and then badgering me to give you even more answers.

Game's about to start so I'll just say I think the value is close and both teams say no to that trade. But I guess you could ask the guys who did the voting why Marner was a 1st team all-star ahead of Rantanen, voting wasn't close IIRC either. And I've bitched about playoff Marner not being great as much as anyone but he was really good last playoffs and think it's likely that he has matured as a player, he's entering his prime and will be a consistent playoff performer going forward.

Are you saying you'd be happy to trade Marner for Rantanen, give the opportunity? I suspect you'd be in the minority there but I'd be curious to hear what other people think as well.

Rantanen for all the stuff he had done in regular seasons and playoffs is not better than MM and his contract even though is less than MM but it is still not a better deal. Kerfoot and Engvall might not be much but they are both capable NHL players and can probably net a 3rd round pick individually.

MM, Murray and Robbie for Panarin, Shesterkin and Kakko is actually a very interesting trade if it is to happen. Which I doubt as I don't think Rangers would trade Shesterkin.

In the spirit or making these so called video game trade, this is mine. Marner, Sandin and Sammy for McDavid and Skinner.
