I took that as a shot at the Rasanen pickEven as off-board pick Minten is tiers ahead of these guys, and it wasn't an especially deep draft anyway.

Interesting that you have Minton in a tier with Knies. I don’t think there in the same tier but if he has a good season he could get to that tier.Yup.
Minton was an early 2nd rd. pick. I think Dubas and his team can do good work from that spot. I'm trusting their judgement here and projecting that he'll dominate next year and improve his league wide stock. From a value stand point I think he's not far off from those above him, he just has more to prove. I almost put him into the 2nd tier because I think he's pretty close in upside and likelihood to reach it as Hirvonen.Interesting that you have Minton in a tier with Knies. Robertson and Knies took of the next year after their draft so I’m willing to give Dubas the benefit of doubt on this one and see how his season plays out.Minton was an early 2nd rd. pick. Well he wasn't qualified yesterday... so he's a UFA now. Such a shame that he couldn't stay on the ice without hurting himself.Has it been confirmed that Ian Scott will not be resigned?
This year's Kressler... I hope. He's 6-6 and 230... every day.We need LD in camp and Larsen is a fairly good one.
I do not really know what he is in the NHL though. He has solid understanding in his own end and his reach certainly helps him, but he needs work on his skating when defending the rush and he is more of an offensive specialist than a stay-at-home guy. His speed is pretty good, but his agility and four-way mobility will need a fair bit of work.
His offense is where he stands out (beyond his size). Nice, hard shot. Solid puck mover on the blueline (to the point where he could realistically be a PP guy at the pro level).
There are actually a fair number of similarities between him and Samuel Mayer, who I did have ranked fairly high. Mayer has a lot of nastiness in his game, however, whereas Larsen does not use his size nearly as much as he should.
Here is from Brock Otten:
He is the most promising invite by a wide margin thus far, but still a massive project (in more ways than one).
He's a late '02 so he turns 20 in September. He's also a European Import, not sure if he's on loan or not. Regardless, because he turns 20 this year he is eligible for the AHL.I'm not sure he's old enough to play in the AHL. I think he likely goes back to junior. He does look like a potential ELC candidate though.

I hope they offer him something, even an ECHL deal.
I read somewhere (maybe posted in this thread) that the steelheads decided not to retain him as it would use up BOTH an import slot AND overager slot. I think echl would be a good idea for him if he impresses.
Why wouldn't he have Amirov listed here? Health issues aside, he is still one of our best prospects.

Akhtyamov is in Toronto. Depending what happens, could be someone they keep around the Marlies.
leafs have extensive goaltending depth right now. Probably too much.
Murray 28
Samsonov 25
With legit NHL experience.
Woll. Kalgren. McKay. Petruzelli. Wildebeast and the 2 Russians.
I have the most hope for Samsonov. Petru and wildebeest. They could be legit starters
