Smooth skater that makes good outlet passes and is strong in transition. Also a lot better defensively than you would expect a guy of his size to be.

From watching a bunch of his games too I expect the offense to come as soon as he isn't behind three 1st and 2nd round picks who [obviously] get favourable playing time.

This is probably true. I remember when he had the chance to play some top pairing minutes while some of his team mates were at the WJC last year. He was so good during that stretch. It's a shame really because I like his game a lot better than guys like LaCombe but he just gets no opportunities offensively.

To be honest I like his game way more than Johnson, Faber, and LaCombe, but it's not like a coach can play a late round pick over top-45 picks and expect to keep getting those kinds of players to come to the program.

No actually. I just don’t see what everyone else does apparently.
Do you actually watch Minnesota?

If you watch Koster play and come away unimpressed then your eye test is broken. He’s the type who’s game isn’t reflected on the score sheet yet has his fingerprints all over the game.

Incredible HIQ and mental map of the ice. Not a flashy risk taker but a conservative transitional defender with high level evasiveness.

I hope they don't rush him. Let him stay in college for at least another season.

I'd be shocked if they did. He's really having an outstanding start for a freshman but for the Leafs to want to bring him to pro he'd have to explode. My guess is still one more season with Minnesota (assuming he doesn't all of a sudden become one of the best 5 players in the NCAA) and he'll sign his deal as the season ends. Maybe see a few games at the end of the 2022-23 season with the Leafs, but most likely starts 2023-24 with the Marlies.

Tverberg and Knies are more then making up for the dissapointing start by Miettinen.

Tverberg a true centre or likely a winger at the pro level?

Having watched Miettinen a lot last year, it's really surprising to me how he's fallen off this year. I wonder what his summer regimen was like.

Have you watched this year and is it just bad luck? Poor supporting cast?

I think its actually the opposite of a bad supporting cast with Miettinen. I thought they brought back pretty much their whole team this year and roll 4 lines so the offense gets spread around.

He just hasn't been as good in that role this year after an otherworldy performance last year.

Anyone still track Lindgren? Wonder how he’s doin post trade. Always liked his game
Last I recall, he was UFA last off-season, similar condition to Bunting.
Don’t remember hearing about him after seeing him on the UFA list tho.

The toyberg assist to the point in the pp!

Toyberg is on the top line.

his next shift is on the pk: blocks a shot, then blocks a cross-ice pass

Toyberg is apparently on the penalty kill. He’s quite aggressive and tenacious. Very willing to block shots.

He’s been making smart efficient decisions in the 2nd period.

The apple from #28:

SDA up to 10 points with the Marlies - pretty impressive production for a 21 year old that I expected to struggle in the AHL the first couple seasons. Has anyone paid close attention to his game?

As advertised. He's stronger and faster for sure. It's been a solid season for him so far.
