for those who don't subscribe to the Athletic, these were the projected lineups for the major Players of the WJC:

I'd say that representation isn't too bad when you factor in the fact that we haven't had many high picks in the last 2 drafts. Looking at all of the teams represented on these projected lineup's only Carolina, Winnipeg and Florida seem to have a similar representation from teams that would be considered "good" NHL teams. Not to mention there are 4 guys that were drafted in 2020 that are now not eligible for tournament action in Amirov, Miettenen, Ahktyamov, and Rindell. I'd imagine a minimum of 2 of those players would representing their countries if they had a later Birthdate. But then again, so toO would other teams to some degree.

But nonetheless, when you think about our pool, and in particular the draft classes of 2020 and 2021, only 9 of the 16 players selected between the 2 drafts are still eligible for the WJC tournament. To have 4/9 be locks (which they are) is pretty remarkable. Let alone, if the players fill the roles they are projected in this article to fill. Home run IMO

I know i'm bias as f***, but i still think Tverberg and Peksa deserve to be in the convo at the very least as well. Not expecting them to make the rosters, but HM even

Maybe that Dubas guy can draft after all...

No Wright, no Bedard, I'm sure both will be there. Bedard will start as the extra forward and lead the tournament in points by the end.
Not even McDavid lead the tournament in points as a 16 year old. He did it at age 17 (his draft year). I think Bedard could do well but realistically he won't lead the scoring race in this tournament. Next year very good chance.

Man coming out to the hashmarks on a 2-on-1...

Gutsy.
Lol ya it was maybe a touch more aggressive than they likely teach ya, but in his defense he was able to track back into a good position to make the save quite quickly. Those guys were coming in hot, and he was still able to make the save on a a pretty solid forehand to backhand move. That is not an easy save to make when the guy cuts back across the middle. he pushes off in one direction when the pass comes across, and then pushes back in the opposite direction to make the save on the deke. That is one hell of an athletic save.

Carolina has been a very impressive organization the past few seasons.

Doing well with the NHL team while having lots of quality prospects.
LA, STL and ANA too, given how they always seem to have prospects at the tourney (good ones too). Detroit has a possible 8 prospects to be there too.

honestly that should be expected for teams like ANA, LA, DET. They've been shit for a handful of years now and are in the process of accumulating picks. I think Carolina has done a great job drafting lately while still being very relevant.

Not trying to take anything away from DET, LA, and ANA. They still need to pick the right players. Just a lot different set of circumstances IMO.

Agreed. I would say Carolina is probably the best organization from top to bottom. Well built team and great prospect pool.

Miettinen has added an assist. 2 goals and 1 assist tonight.

Tverberg scored the only goal for his team in a 2-1 loss.

Koster and Knies finished with 1 assist each.
Can't believe there isn't more talk on Tverberg tbh. Like I doubt he even has a prospect thread, and wasn't even voted top 25 by us I believe. Watched his last game, and he was by far the best player on the ice.
