So what you're saying is Rindell not only played against teams top lines, but he also didn't play with his teams 1st and 2nd lines?
Most of the times teams are using 3rd and 4th line to play 0-0 against the top lines in Finland

Okay..... but your post is predicated based on the fact that it was last season?
You said as a 21 year old he should show and he is 21 this season

Because being chosen for a team doesn't make a player better
There are always four EHT tournaments and for those they take every year up to 60 players. So for sure if you are anywhere close to make the WC team you will be chosen for at least one of those tournaments.

I think it's more than amazing that you believe there is more to come with Rindell.
Interesting to see what happens. Kokkonen is having one of the best coaches in Finland and Rindell is having Olli Jokinen as a coach, which also makes things interesting. But at the moment in Finland people who are working in the hockey see more future in Rindell than Kokkonen. For that there can be several reasons, one could be the fact that the other one has been "fully grown" for four years and the other is starting his first year as "fully grown" and at least for me as a coach that is one very important thing when looking forwards players coming development. This is the situation now and as said they are still young players, anything can happen. I´m not going to start yes and no conversation about this.

Kristen Shilton: Taking stock of five Toronto Maple Leafs prospects after rookie camp - TSN.ca

Robertson, Steeves, Abramov positives, SDA and Kral negatives.

There was a man among boys at camp, and that man was Steeves. The 21-year-old got off to a quiet start on the first day of drills, but by Saturday’s scrimmage, he was coming to life.
The centre is only listed as 5-foot-11 and 185 pounds, but Steeves had no trouble overpowering players off pucks or shoving opponents into corners. He also complemented that physical game with some impressive offensive work.
Steeves was a top-notch playmaker during Saturday’s scrimmage, getting on the rush and dishing out passes for his linemates. He also showed off good instincts around the net, displayed good puck movement and even buried a goal of his own off a few blistering shot attempts.
On Monday, Steeves picked up where he left off offensively. He scored once off an early second-period rush, and then, after keeping the play down low, Steeves sent a quick wrister into the net off a pass from Robertson. It often felt like Steeves was one step ahead of everyone else, able to anticipate and react fast enough to give his team an edge.
“To me, he looks like a pro player on the ice,” said Wickenheiser. “He’s a man, and the way he’s built his off-ice conditioning is quite far down the line and he’s continued to put in the work. He’s got a good shot and he’s very powerful.”
That's disappointing with Kral and SDA

Really happy to hear Steeves is making a name for himself. Like to hear when a prospect is building momentum for himself that can result in something good happening down the line.

I think Steeves will have a camp comparable to, if not slightly better than Chartier last fall. Under the radar player who surprises with a pro package but is too far down the pecking order. Ultimately he'll end up in the A regardless because he's not outperforming Robertson and the waiver implications will benefit Brooks, Anderson, etc.

Amirov only missed 5 games so he shouldn't be too far behind the eight ball. Quick recovery.

Ufa is undefeated to start the season so if he gets opportunity at the top of the lineup, this will be a huge development year on a good team.

Chebykin on fire to start the year, he's been off the radar since being drafted in 2016 and probably a long shot to ever come over to NA but maybe it's not too late to breakout. Good to see he's on the ice with a minute left in a tied game to score the winner.

He looks a lot like Mantha stylistically.

Massive long shot to even play in North America but his shooting and hands look improved.

Amirov was having a really strong pre-season before getting injured. Freak play that saw him fall into the boards awkwardly.

His team recently signed Nikolai Kulemin who has 5 goals in his first 5 games.

We shouldn't get too excited by strong performances, or too down on poor performances. Two days, don't make a career... now Kral being in poor fitness is an issue though... If you want to be a pro. act like a pro.
Agreed . Doesn't bode well when your first impression is that you aren't prepared and don't compete though.

I kinda feel like SDA has some entitlement vibes after he got his ELC.

No idea why Kral is not listed on the roster. Even if he performed poorly, he is still one of the better defensemen on that list. Did he get hurt?

Only surprise cut for me was Rochette. Was going to be tough for the goalies to get on the roster when we already had Kallgren/Scott/Petruzzelli, and the other cuts were either USHL guys or CHL filler. Would have definitely figured Rochette would be playing considering he was the best candidate for an ELC going into training camp and most of the other invites are future AHL contract candidates at best (Frasca, Pare, Budgell, and even Hardie as an 02'; plus Moore and Sevigny on defense).

Main ones to watch are Saganiuk and Kressler. Kressler's success doesn't surprised me considering he was the second or third best candidate for an ELC coming in (besides Rochette and maybe Braden Holt). He apparently impressed on a line with Robertson and Abramov. Saganiuk was the second best 03' forward invite, coming off of a PPG at the PBHH Invitational and having some prestige, but I figured he was mostly filler coming in. Must have bulked up and diversified his skill set (bringing something besides just speed) since early 2020.

Yes, Kral is injured

Why it just means they playing at the level they got drafted at
They both know what they need to do
What does draft position have to do with showing up out of shape or a lack of effort? This is a time when you are showing the organization what you got and that you have improved on the previous year. SDA has skill and has shown at times to be a good player. Kral has been progressing well since being drafted and had a good year last year. Neither guy should be getting shown up by guys who weren't drafted and are camp invites.

You could say his stock is picking up Steeves.

Wouldn’t hurt to have someone come outta nowhere to have a meteoric rise.

I think Hardie and Moore are the most likely to get ELC's (but even they aren't super likely) given that they both will have just one year of Junior obligation left.

Kressler and Saganiuk are possible for sure, but I'd be surprised to see them get an ELC after just being passed over one time. Perhaps the Leafs keep tabs and draft them next season if they prove their worth.

Budgell, Sevigny, and Frasca are potential AHL contract options right now, but they could all play OA Junior seasons instead.

I'm surprised Gauthier isn't here, but having Kallgren/Petruzzelli/Scott made that difficult. Maybe he is getting an AHL deal regardless and can be loaned out.

Neither played at all for about 1.5 years (outside of the PBHH Invitational for Saganiuk) so it is not like scouts were watching them all year and suddenly changed their minds the past couple of weeks.

Hardie and Moore did not play at all last year either, but they don't really have enough to warrant giving them an ELC. I think Hardie could get there eventually but it will take time, just like it did with Gogolev. He's not ready for an ELC right now, unless his game jumped 2 or 3 years forward in less than 6 months. Moore needs to show more than just being a good skater if he wants to make the NHL as a defenseman. His defensive game is fine but not spectacular and his offensive game is below average. Both are concerning for a guy who is maybe 5'10" as a defenseman.
