I didn't know where to put this
Brett Brouchu G london knights when undrafted last year .
I know he dosnt have the size of what the NHL is looking for but this kid never never gives up on the play.
Just watching the knights game tonight crazy saves .
We should have used a late pick on him.
He's a real interesting prospect. He had really good numbers for London last season that was played, and compared to the other goalies who played for London, his stats suggests he was keeping them afloat, but it's London, so all everyone says is he plays behind a stacked team.

London Knights at eliteprospects.com

He had the 2nd best Sv% in 19/20 behind Dawes, and the #1 GAA all the while being a rookie. If he goes undrafted again this year assuming he has another solid season, it will just be tragic.

Besides the obvious and high draft picks like Sandin and Lilly.

Is no one fighting for a spot from 2017 and 2018 draft class ?
Not from 2017. 2018 still has SDA, Hollowell, Kral, and Holmberg relevant, but I doubt any play a game this year. Hollowell would probably be most likely to see under 5 games tops if he takes notable strides since he's a 3rd year Pro

London Knight will have a very young team this year no overager players as of right now.
They won't have an experienced team this year .
This kids heart and determination are bigger than his body.

They are almost certainly going to be acquiring a few OAers. They are linked to a guy from Flint who wants out, and teams like the Soo have 6 higher quality OA's who will be playing somewhere in the OHL.

Had a rough game by the looks of it.

It looks like Bobkov got the start.

Probably meant yesterday. Artur got the start and let in 4 goals on 21 shots.

Ovechnikov got to play today too. Unfortunately he only saw like 3 minutes of ice time.

Didn't get to watch the game but saw the highlights. Looked like Sibir was shorthanded the entire video and Dynamo scored 3 PPG which might have been why Ovechnikov only played 3 minutes (hopefully). The 4th goal Ovechnikov made a bad defensive play which led to another one of our prospects Chebykin to score.

I have a feeling that Peksa might emerge as a surprising dark horse goalie this year.

Toivunen has no real record as a goalie coach (he only retired a couple of years ago and has mostly just been teaching kids or really low level hockey) but I guess he is clean internet-wise and has a lengthy pro resume.

Doesn't everyone get their first gig with the leafs organization?

He runs his own goaltending school. He also is a goaltending coach at a collage in the US. Here is his website: Home | Hannu Toivonen Goaltending
People might find some tidbits there.

Hannu Toivonen might be a familiar name to goalie fans from the early 2000s. He was a big time Finn goalie prospect to come out of that country around the time Kari Lehtonen broken in, and the Boston Bruins had him pegged as their goalie of the future, selecting him in the first round in 2002. Sort of projected to be the guy Tuukka Rask eventually became for them. That said, Finland remains a goalie factory and I definitely think someone who has grown up in the position during this time will have a lot to add from a technical POV.

I get why they didn't hire Imoo, but it's too bad the best they could find is someone new to the position. The Leafs' track record of developing goals is not very inspiring, so it would have been nice to find someone who has proven to be good at it
Yeah, i’m bittersweet about that too. A good track record, but he just HAD to be one of those political types.

Troy Paquette is also a former goaltending coach at Queens. He will be the video coach.

That'd be surprising, but awesome. A D+2 goalie playing in the MHL doesn't exactly scream "prospect" unless his numbers are outrageous. Even then, why isn't Kazan playing him in the VHL if his numbers were outrageous? Not like Ahktyamov is blocking him as he's now in the KHL. For context they're the same draft year (despite Artur being almost a year older), and here is their GP total in each league with sv% in brackets:

Ahktyamov / Peksa
KHL - 4 (.877) / 0
VHL - 14 (.927) / 0
MHL - 109 (.926) / 19 (.912)

Such a strange pick. Just no track record and an overager. They must really see something they like.

And it is not like Akhtyamov is exactly a model of excellence either.
