Chayka is #55, Kirsanov is #78, Kostenko is not in the lineup today.
Is this just an international friendly game? I was thinking it was a world junior tryout game but just saw that a 25 year old scored for Finland.
It is the Kajala Cup. Russia only has U20 players, but Finland/Russia/Sweden do not.
Ha!Larionov talking to Amirov on the bench is cool to see. One of the smartest players to ever play the game, and the new Russian coach
Loponen played 10:09 today and had a CF% of 78.6.Strange Niemela isn't in the lineup despite reports saying he was playing well. On another note, Loponen is making his Liga debut today.

Yeah. His D+1 wasn't great last season, but his production was good in the U20 league this season, and got a call up. We'll see how he does in Liga. Decent start so far.Small sample set, but astounding number.

Kokkonen is definitely an interesting prospect. His previous season got pretty derailed by his injury and he doesn't have any points this year, but there's a lot to be said about holding his own in big minutes in a men's league at his age. The list of draft eligible defenseman who played in the Finnish league is pretty small, but his production was pretty impressive. 0.34 points per game is more than players like Lassi Thomson, Urho Vaakaneinen, and Ville Heinola had in their D+1 seasons. From what I've read, Karpat is stacked. Though apparently it's as big a surprise that he played full-time last year as it is that he's NOT playing full-time this year. Especially when prospect guys/Liiga-fans have been raving about how well he's played in Liiga so far (this season and last).
Really shows the difference between a top-team like Karpat vs. a bottom-feeder like Jukurit and how the kids are being played:
Jukurit
Kokkonen (19) - 21:21 TOI/GP (1st)
Rindell (20) - 21:18 TOI/GP (2nd)
--
Karpat
Niemela (18) - 13:15 TOI/GP (8th) - but 9 defenseman have played more games than him
Also really good to see that both Kokkonen and Rindell have started dominating CF%, especially in comparison to their team playing big minutes (and the fact that Jukurit is bottom in the league in CF%). If it keeps up for Kokkonen with those big minutes I could see me bumping him into my next tier and jumping Abruzzese/Korhskov easy and maybe even Niemela/Hirvonen.
Thanks for the info. The stacked D makes sense of why he isn't playing. One of the Liga people said he should never have been demoted, so I think thats a good indicator of his play. From what I've read, Karpat is stacked. Yeah I have been saying that after Robertson, I think Kokkonen is the next guy to make the NHL even though I'm high on Abramov and Abruzzese. Kokkonen's defensive play is just well advanced for someone his age.Kokkonen is definitely an interesting prospect. I'm pretty high on Abruzzese, but I wouldn't blink at ranking Kokkonen over Korshkov. I think he has more upside to contribute at the NHL level depending on how his offensive game comes along, and a pretty safe floor based on how much he's playing and still doing well defensively in a men's league

Thats fair. It's way easier seeing a path to the NHL for a potential 3rd line forward over the next couple of seasons
That's no disrespect to Kokkonen who I really like, i'm just looking at our roster and prospect pool and it looks LD heavy
