Kral's footwork is really impressive, that's not the first clip where he's been able to create lanes for himself with those half-pivots at top speed. I don't know how well it translates at the next level, but still good to see.

Kral does a lot of inline skating in the off-seasons. Pretty sure he plays in a recreational inline hockey league. A lot of people discount the benefits of cross-training ice/inline, but he's definitely developed a unique skating/puckhandling style for a 6'2 defender and i'm sure it's had an impact.

Kral and Koster are the two guys who have shot up my personal list over the past year, especially of recent.

I think Kral is entering the "Fine, I'll do it myself" stage. His team is garbage, hopefully he continues to grow.

Apparently Kloke talked about how Rindell would like to come over to the Marlies next year. It may be tough if Duszak is still on the team, since we would already have a number of undersized guys and that would make two RHD offensive defensemen, which is hard to fit in. Also, it may make sense to add some veteran options who can play a reliable defensive game, when you consider that many of the guys we are looking at are young, unproven puck movers on the back end.

I don't see the harm with keep Kokkonen and Rindell in the Liiga for an extra year, unless they don't have a ton of promise for Hoefenmayer, Sapego, or McCourt.

Mitch Brown who is respected well in scouting reports for prospects, has our prospect pool ranked #10.

Rindell is 6'0 176 lbs, not undersized. And Kokkonen and Rindell need to get out of the situation in Jukurit. Rindell won't improve defensively playing on a garbage team, and Kokkonen is in his 5th season in Liiga and is much closer to being NHL ready then people realize.

He himself is not undersized, but he is not big either.

The point is that you are going to need to ice a competitive defense and how competitive would a defense of Kivihalme, Rubins, Duszak, Hollowell, Kokkonen, Rindell, Kral, and one or two other guys be? There are not many top 4 AHL defensemen out of that group as of right now, and even fewer who are considered strong defensive players at the AHL level.

Kloke mentioned on a Q and A that some teams had Hirvonen as a late 1st rounder. His hands and vision are elite. Scouts told him he could piay on a NHL powerplay today.

Thats some serious praise.

Also said again Leafs are really high on Hollowell. A typical modern day d man. They see him being an NHL player.

How many times do I gotta tell you guys, he's too small to be an NHL dman.

There's no room for him in the NHL, he's gotta be big and strong like Cale Makar and Samuel Girard
Agreed rather have guys like Middelton

Some other stuff. Kloke says Leafs were interested in Askarov if he fell to 15.

Thanks for sharing the information... probably a no brainer move really. Chances are we would have taken Drysdale, or Byfield if they'd dropped to us too.
