Knies will get the 4th line starts and then sprinkled into playing with the stars on the top 6.

People need to temper their expectations, Knies is a really good complimentary player, I don't think he's ever been the star player on his line, but he does an excellent job at creating space for his linemates.. which is precisely what we are looking for. If he can bring a mean streak into his game he would be perfect.

Sounds like the perfect wingman for Matthews.

I think you hope Knies can come in and provide some youthful energy/speed on the 4th line with some responsible play that’s physical.

Doesn’t have to score point so long as he can be effective on the forecheck, good in his own end, and help the Leafs hold momentum in games.
