Easily his best game against the Isles. Has earned more looks for sure. The 4th line isn't good in terms of quality except for Blackwell, but Keefe does have options in what he wants it to look like. He can do a skill line or a tough gritty line.
I think blackwell has been the staple of the 4th line after spezza kind of fizzled this year.

Dunno anything about him, hoepfully and looks likes just AHL depth

He hasn't been great, but he has outperformed the other depth options besides maybe Krys (who hasn't played up in the lineup as often as Hellickson has). Not that it means much, considering our defensive depth has mostly sucked under Moore.

If he is only supposed to be a primary call up and top 4 LD for the Growlers, this is fine for next year. If he is expected to be more than that, we have problems.

All Age 22 seasons this year - which is most impressive?

Abbruzzese ECAC 1.18ppg
Holmberg SEL .89ppg
Steeves AHL .85ppg

Tho actually Steeves is like 7-10 months younger than the other two.

Steeves
Holmberg
Abruzzese

Though admittedly Abru's 2019-2020 is the most impressive season relative to age/expectations any of the three have put out and he was a big standout for me at the Olympics this year.

Based solely on merit I would be down to rock a Clifford-Abruzzese-Blackwell line 4 in the playoffs. As I was saying Abruzzese hasn't put up points yet but he's tilting the ice when he's out there and he's looked quite dangerous the last couple games. Blackwell is an excellent fourth liner who provides finishing ability and energy and out of Spezza/Simmonds/Clifford Cliff has been the most effective imo and provides a bit of toughness.

Holmberg is a lot better than people are expecting. I wish there was more runway on the season for him to get going. I think he'll push for a spot next season.

One good to great finish with the Marlies and he'll jump up in peoples minds. I'll be honest, I'm not very high on Holmgren myself but he might surprise me.

Holmberg is almost a PPG 1C on a playoff team and dominates play both ways in the clear best league (and 3rd best league in the world).

He's definitely looking less timid out there and way more confident now. Skating and strength need some more work and I think a strong offseason could see him on the 3rd line next year. His play with the puck by making strong passes and displaying lots of patience is really starting to show and his off the puck play shows in some good positioning and is willing to forecheck/battle for the puck. Could be a solid player if those other things can be improved upon and his confidence continues to grow.

Really interested to see Holmberg perform on the Marlies. Given our lack of prospect depth at C it would be nice to add a new #3C internally, similar to how Florida drafted Lundell and he's come right into the league without hardly missing a beat from his time in the SHL

Steeves has been great and story that I am not too sure anyone really expected when we signed him last offseason. He looks like an NHL player. I don't know if I'd go as far as saying impact player, but he should be in the NHL at some point. But I still think what Holmberg has done in Sweden is more impressive. The SEL is a bit more of a Vet's league than the AHL and Holmberg has earned his way into a prominent role on a championship wining squad. Very excited to see what he can bring in NA.

I honestly don't know how next year will shake out in terms of roster construction, and how many vacancies there will be in the lineup. I once thought the easiest transition would be letting Micky, Engvall, and Spezz walk and promoting a guys like Holmberg, Steeves, and Robby. But can we really afford to lose Micky and Engvall?? I personally don't think we can lose either. They have been absolutely dynamic this year, and I honestly think there may even be room for Engvall to grow his game. If we did resign them it would mean we would need to clear out some money. Kerf is the obvious choice, Mrazek as well. But we also need to resign Soup and Sandy/Lilly and maybe even Gio. Maybe Muzz gets moved? who knows.

Lots of options. Either way you shake it, we have a bright future with these budding Leafs on the way! This second wave of ELC talent is what is going to keep us in a competitive window for years to come.

I like the top 9, but then I saw that Duszak is on the 4th line RW and Kivihalme/Rubins are being forced to play their off-side and SMH.

Douglas, McMann, Ovchinnikov, Slaggert, Ellis, Hollowell, and SDA are all injured I guess? Because that is literally the only excuse he should have right now.
