Marlies playing well so far. Anderson with a nice PP goal off a Seney rebound. Holmberg hasn’t shown much yet. Kral with some nice D play

Me too. I need a stream. I am listening on CJBQ at the moment. I would love to watch it though.

How does Holmberg look in traffic? Does he initiate any contact? Does he drive to the net? I always like to see what happens to Euros when they first come over because they start out mirroring the game that is played over there and then they adapt. Assuming they get played of course.

I only saw the one clip but he looked a lot like Abruzzese in that one.

He drove the net in the SHL too. He is not a perimeter player, but he is like 5'11", 180 so it only goes so far.

Pretty good puck possession skills from what I've seen. Stands out. But tbh its not hard with how bad most of the other Marlies have been.

Really nice to see Robertson showing consistent breakaway speed down there. He hasn't shown any of that up here yet.

He doesn't need to be the fastest but he does need to be pretty quick.

To be fair, he's only played 9 games this season and 6 games the season before that. He hasn't had steady time to get going. I think the AHL was the right move - let him dominant a full rookie season down there and then bring him up. Although I do agree that now would probably be a good time to bring him up with 5 games remaining in case we need him for the playoffs.

I was surprised when I saw he only had 9 + 6 games in the NHL - for some reason it feels like he's been here for a while - but I forget he's been plagued with injuries

Hutchinson lost this game for the marlies and they may miss the playoffs because of it. can’t believe this guy has managed to stick around so long in our organization, there’s way better options out there.

Robertson looks like a game breaker at the AHL level now. He has looked that way ever since he was sent back down. Almost every time the puck is on his stick he creates. This is a level of play he has never displayed before as a pro. I really think his last callup did wonders for his game. His confidence with the puck is undeniably better, his edge work has improved substantially from last year and he seems faster than ever before.

The next time Nick gets called up, he will not be sent down for a long time IMO. He looks ready for a bigger role in the NHL, not just bottom 6 minutes. I would really like to see them call him up once the Marlies have been mathematically eliminated and give him a couple games before the season ends. He could be our ace in the hole come playoffs. Especially if someone were to go down with injury in the top 6

pretty sure hutch is only still here because we needed a goalie on contract to expose in the expansion draft. the decision to play him is entirely on moore, though. especially when petruzzelli is sitting there on the bench (though he wasn't even the back up last night).

Oh 100% - imo his stints up here are too small to mean anything, especially since they've come in between major injuries and without him even getting a good run in the AHL to come in with confidence.

Right now would be the first stint that I'd start putting some actual expectations on him, now that he's finally AHL rookie age and is just starting to become a legit impact AHL player. It's still tough because there's no real time for him to get a run of games in before the playoffs and I wouldn't expect him to be an impact player up here anyways but at least there's actually a realistic chance he could be a legit contributor these playoffs if we need him.

Robertson's transition to the NHL reminds me a lot of Kadri's, only difference is that this Leafs team is amazing and hard to crack the top 9, whereas the Kadri Leafs were terrible.

From age 19-21, Kadri only got into 51 NHL games and had 19 points.

Like Robertson, you saw the skill, but you saw the lack of explosiveness and overall man strength.

But anyone with eyes knows that Robertson will produce at this level, it will just take time.

For the record Kadri (wrongly) didn't get his first fulltime shot until age 22 - a full 2 years older than Robby is now - and even that year he was in the AHL for a while.

I'm betting Robby beats Kadri's schedule by a good bit.
