Voit beats up on Saginaw with a 4 point night (2+2) in a must win for Sarnia. They sit one point up on Erie, each with one game remaining.
(Both fan bases would rather lose for draft positioning, either team is almost certainly going to get chewed up by WIndsor)

26 goal, 80 point U19 year. Looking back at past Leaf picks that essentially matches 2nd rounder Bracco and (slightly) exceeds 6th round steal Brown.

100 points is not at all out of the realm of possibility for Ty next year.

The good thing is Voit doesn't have the weaknesses Bracco did. He's a better defensive player and more of a scoring threat. Compete is much better too.

We could really use some D and G prospects

Maybe... I just get tired of hearing it in every post. The Leafs clearly have a different opinion of the player.
Moore hasn't given any indication that he is good at player evaluation, so if he plays him a lot it's not a positive for the player.

I haven't been watching any Marlie games admittingly, but why not try to groom Douglas a little more. The guys putting up .5 ppg in the AHL which is pretty good. Why not try to groom him more for NHL. He's Chara big and can skate and fight. Simmonds won't be around forever..

They signed him, they definitely see NHL potential in him, he's probably still at least 12 months away from being even a fringe NHLer, probably 2 seasons from serious job contention at the minimum. Now, of note, he produced our "big name" C prospects SDA and Abramov.

Brian Boyle became a full time NHLer at 24, we're probably looking at something similar. I love that we have this guy in the system.

Yea, he's big on skates and plays big. I've checked in and watched here and there and the little that I've seen from him he looked pretty good. Skates surprisingly good for his size and uses his body. He's untouchable when it comes to fights. Anybody that big and heavy on skates has an huge advantage to balancing and getting the other guy off balance. Groom him for a Michael Bunting type of role.

Marlies lose 5-1.

We are barely hanging on to a play-in spot right now, and short of a massive win streak, a play-in spot is the best we can hope for. We can miss the playoffs altogether. If that happens, this would be 3 straight years where the Marlies would have been on pace to miss the playoffs... And that is despite the Marlies starting the season 10-2-3 in 2019-2020 while Keefe was still HC and 7-5-0 in the period between HC's with Davison/McLean running things. So a combined 17-7-3.

Moore was 12-20-2 in 2019-2020 until Covid shut the league down.

2020-2021: 16-17-2.

2021-2022: 35-27-4.

I guess he is getting better? But 3 straight years of potentially missing the playoffs is not going to cut it. I say he gets to start next year, but if the Marlies have a losing record in 2022, then Moore should be done.

In the meantime, Hardy has to focus on getting the best RD he can find for the top 4 next year. We need some top 9 forwards with some experience too, but we desperately need a pair of good, defensively capable RD for the top 4... Like Biega, but with a bit more juice left in the tank.
