Maybe it's just me but I like Lisowsky's game. I realize his numbers seem to have plateaued in Junior, but I think he has another gear with some pro development. He's an excellent skater with a wicked shot, and he excels in puck pursuit and recovery. The guy's a takeaway machine that competes for possession. He reminds me a bit of Yanni Gourde, and I think he could be a bottom 6 winger.

Yeah I think he'd be an ELC for me. He always stood out at the prospect camp scrimmages and the rookie tournaments. He's got a heavy shot and he's a greasy player around the net. His skating is pretty solid with good speed. I think there could be potential there to be a depth player down the line. Could become a Tyler Motte / Austin Czarnik player with a little more development. Gourde would be a jackpot.

He's playing with Minten this year, could be a good combo on our third line in a few years.

Lisowsky's big issue is his lack of speed.

Missed the 1st period but Hirvonen looked pretty good in the 2nd ad Quillan didn't look too bad in the few shifts I saw him play. They got him on wing so idk how much he's played there the last few years.

From the Qunnipiac site
Quillan was one of the league's most physical forwards, finishing fourth in the league in faceoffs won with 376. He finished with 19 blocked shots and was a plus-19 rating, as well as adding a team-best 29 assists. He had 44 total points.

I think he Graf and Lipkin have been a line the last two years so I don't imagine much time on the wing at all.

Marlies finish off the win, 5-1.
RoniH (2) and Steeves with prospect goals; Kokkonen, Niemela,Villeneuve and Abruzzese (2) with prospect assists.
Hildeby first star, turning away 36 of 37 shots.

Notes from my only Marlies game of the year:
- Steeves has some great offensive bursts, but doesn't really stand out shift-to-shift
- Couple nice goals from Hirvonen. Didn't seem to be getting much ice-time.
- Abruzzese is a great playmaker but doesn't add enough elsewhere
- Thought Quillan moved well and was eager to get involved. If I can think of a criticism, maybe lacks high-end skill.
- Hildeby's gonna be a good one (despite the shot count, don't think Utica particularly challenged him yesterday)
- Villaneuve seems weirdly tense out there, almost overly focused on his defensive assignments. Hunched over skating style makes you forget he's 6'2...
- Generally solid, quiet games from Kokkonen and Niemela. The latter doesn't seem as 'dynamic' as I'd have thought, but looked steady.
- All around badness on Utica's only goal, starting from a bad Abruzzese pass, Hirvonen and Shaw flying the zone, and Pietronero-Niemela having a mare trying to recover.
- Utica are bad.

Appreciate the write up

I think Steeves would be better suited for a bottom 6 in NHL than a top player in AHL. He's not skilled enough but enough to be a contributor in an NHL team

I can see Steeves getting regular calls next year like McMann. He's a center, if Dewar doesn't get qualified, he can take his spot

Does Steeves penalty kill? Would be great if his cap hit could replace Kampfs for the 4th line center spot. If he doesn’t PK then not ideal replacement.

Why hasnt steeves ever been given a real shot

I was looking at his points over all games this season and there were several games in a row where he didn’t seem to be a factor This happened multiple times this year so perhaps consistency is what he needs more right now

McMann was a late bloomer so sometimes these guys need that extra time

Just hope we can actually keep him around to give him a chance, I'm not sure he comes back this summer and I don't really blame him.

A lack of of injuries upfront mostly. Leafs had a good amount of depth. He's gonna be an NHLer soon and I think we'll regret not giving him a longer look if/when he does move on.

He does.

He seems really promising, I just hope he's not another Andrew Nielsen, they even played for the same WHL team lol. Nielsen was a weird case where he had a great rookie AHL season and then just never got any better.
r
He is a prospect
