Of all the issues in the world punctuation is an issue for you?😆
People can care about lots of different things at the same time. This is about prospects though.

That is a bad game for the Marlies but seems more of an abberation.

LONDON ,Ont. — Easton Cowan is playing his best hockey as a London Knight.

That comes on the heels of admitting he struggled to find his game with the medal-less Canadian world junior squad last month.

The Toronto Maple Leafs’ 2023 first-round pick (28th overall) has 19 goals and 36 points in 30 games, and has already eclipsed last season’s 53-point rookie output, which took 68 games to produce.

He ranks second to Philadelphia Flyers third-rounder Denver Barkey (64 points) in team scoring, but more importantly, is making a difference in the Knights’ season-best 14-game win streak.

The growth in his game has been noted by at least one NHL scout.

“Cowan has a lot of ways to play,” said the scout, who requested anonymity. “The points are a big bonus but I’m sure Toronto thought it was getting a high-energy player who would improve offensively. I think he is an offensive play-driver and he has really taken a step this year.

“The most exciting thing about Easton Cowan is his game just seems to get better. He went from playing on London’s top line last year with (Ryan) Winterton and Barkey to becoming ‘The Man’. ”

The scout said the best viewings of Cowan this season were while playing in the middle with Finnish winger Kasper Halttunen — a big, physical shooter. Cowan has a knack for knowing when to get someone the puck and does it at high speed.

“I think I can play anywhere in the lineup,” Cowan said. “Bring that game with the hounding mindset and create turnovers off of it. I feel it’s been helping me out recently and whoever you’re out there with on a line, everybody has that hockey sense.”

“It’s been really good lately and when you work hard defensively, it leads to offensive chances. I want that good 200-foot approach because that translates to the next level. I want to put up points and produce for my team but also shut down (the opposition) for my team, too.”

This is the type of leader I want on the team.
Minten 1st star and 2nd star 4 out if 7 games since coming back from thecWJC.

Let's draft more if these players that is why I want to keep to our 1st.
Could be 15th to 17 th iveralll
Adding
Iginla or Greentree would be amazing

Noting the article has a rather glaring error. Cowan has 19 goals and 36 assists for 55 points in 30 games... not the 36 total points the article suggests.

Luchanko C plays a 200 ' game a PK and PP

Trade Bertuzzi retain 50% get a late 2nd and grabe Lukas Fischer 6'3" stay at home dman hit like a rock . He hit a player at the blue line in the prospects game. We need some
I love how Luchanko went from basically an energy line player to an more offensive force in one season based on the team's needs. It shows he can elevate his game. He seems to be a similar archetype of player to Cowan and his on ice testing at the prospectsgame was impressive.

5. Jett Luchanko - Center - Guelph Storm
I recently posted the preliminary media/scout poll for 2024 and I was actually quite shocked to see how many of my contemporaries had Luchanko outside of the top ten. This tells me that he's being massively undervalued in the amateur scouting community right now. He's transformed himself from an excellent high energy checker as a rookie to a dynamic playmaker and offensive catalyst as a sophomore. Matt Poitras making the NHL this year had to have been such a blow to the psyche of Guelph players to start the year, but Luchanko was like "hold on, I got you." I love to see that from a younger player, stepping up to put a team on his back. Luchanko's got the speed, the tenacity, the skill, and the IQ to be a top six center at the NHL level. He's also a committed two-way player and has kept up the strong off puck play that he exhibited last year, despite being counted upon to be an offensive play driver. Really the only two things missing from Luchanko's game is a high end shot (it's a weakness) and strength to win battles consistently. He can be easily pushed off the puck/knocked off stride. But what I love is that it doesn't deter him from trying to work between the dots. He's like Thomas the Tank Engine. Once the strength and conditioning improves, he's going to be even more dangerous because we'll see him playing through contact.

Right now it's either him or Elick for me at our pick. I don't usually like defenseman like Elick in the 1st round but something about him seems different.

Elick and Fischer shut down pair in the future
Both are 6'3" 200 lbs now both are really good defensively already and both love to hit.
We just need a 2nd rd pk.

Not sure how we would get a 2nd though unless we're trading down. I doubt we sell off any of our UFAs, though I wish they would.
