Move over Stamkos, hes on his way to 40.

If you fellas think Callahan is more important to this team offensively than Gaborik is, then I got a bridge in Brooklyn id like to sell you.

Yea, Gaborik's on his way Mr. Stamkos. At this rate, he'll hit 16 goals in no time. And for 7.5 mil? What a bargain!

Youre cherrypicking 25 games bud.

What did you do last year when he scored 41, after a similar off season the year before?

25 games after 240 doesnt determine that, otherwise elite gets tossed around too much.

Are you ignoring his age and injury history? Have you watched him play?

He rarely uses what's left of his explosive speed and his shot is nowhere near the level it used to be. Considering he is/was a one-dimensional player to begin with, it's very disconcerting. RW, LW, doesn't matter. Those are legitimate facts and concerns.

Answer my question.

Where were you last year when he scored 41 after a year VERY similar to this one?

Lemme guess, he was done then too, right?

I side with the larger sample size, not 25 ****ing games.

Its too easy to cherrypick 25 games, which is what youre doing.

Callahan is injury free now?

What relevance does this have to the conversation? Has Callahan's game looked noticeably off? No. Gaborik's has. Once again, his shot is noticeably weaker and he rarely shows his speed anymore.

I know you hate Callahan but c'mon man.

Putting Callahan on RW over a 40 goal scorer, thats a 40 goal scorer, is not a good idea when that 40 goal scorer is more important to your offense.

Why cant Callahan play on his off wing? Something tells me he wouldve scored on that deflection either way.

Cherrypick? I'm watching the games, not the stats. Last year Gabby was skating. This year he is not. I'll ask you again: Have you seen him play? You still think he has an elite shot and speed? Take off the Slovakia-colored glasses.

Something tells me Gaborik wouldn't have scored on that deflection either way.

Similar?!

Thank you.

2009 Gaborik
2012 Gaborik
2013 Gaborik

One of these is not like the others.
One of these is noticeably slower than the others.
One of these has a weaker shot than the others.
One of these is playing after a major shoulder surgery.

Gaborik scored in 13/62 games in 2010-11.

Yeah, totally not similar to this year.

Gaborik also had a groin, shoulder injury and a concussion. Even then, he still put up an effort to shoot and was noticeable.

Ill play the odds and go with the repeated 40 goal guy in the long run.

If youre not willing to stick through slumps, then play GM on NHL13 and trade him for more roster turnover.

Its talent-colored glasses. Something this team needs more of.

Might as well just sit Gaborik out the year then since youre basically admitting hes damned if he does or doesnt this year.

lol if you think Gaborik would even have half the heart to stand in fron of the crease and try to deflect something. Seriously?

You're the one in video game land if you think Gaborik's still an elite scorer.

His entire game was predicated on his blinding speed and laser shot.

Guess what? He has neither of those now! So let's use logic here for a moment.

Take away an elite player's two strengths and.......he's no longer elite. Make too much sense for you?

Stop looking at the numbers and start watching the games pal.

Some talent he's shown tonight. His ability to not convert on golden opportunities is truly something special.

 Is this another one of those "Gaborik doesnt go in dirty areas" posts again?

How many people need to post this until they start looking like a fool?

Players arent allowed to work through their slumps.

I totally forgot.

This is New York.

People who keep using numbers from year's past instead of analyzing the current play of players look like fools.
