I'm pretty sure Pittsburgh is eagerly wanting to get rid of Malkin as he is scored only 5 times in 21 games this season AND he's injured. I'm smelling a trade..
Come on guys, bashing Gaborik is justified and all given the way he is played but even thinking about trading him after this season (or now) is absolutely ridiculous.
Malkin has more points than Gaborik playing in less games. And when he's not scoring, he's creating chances. Malkin rarely takes a shift off and his puck control and dekes are leaps and bounds better than Gaborik.
Oh, and Malkin isn't shy of throwing a hit from time to time.
