I would ask him what makes him so high on a guy, other then his junior years, that has never produced more then 38 pts in a season at 25 years old.

Well he answered in a way :
Concernant Christian Dvorak : « C'est un centre responsable dans les deux sens de la patinoire. Il ne sera pas le joueur qui va te faire dire : Wow. Mais il fait les détails, il joue une game honnête. Nous avons différents joueurs à l'aile que ceux qu'avaient les Coyotes. »

Surprised he didn't just say "London Knight, next question"

Arpon asked MB if having KK in the NHL at 18 could serve as a lesson for future prospects, bringing up examples of Suzuki going back to Junior for a year and Caufield who went back to college. MB said yes, it is something they can learn moving forward. He said he's not perfect and they may not always make the right decision, but that they always do it with the best intentions.

The way Bergevin is talking about KK makes you think that they really did not value him highly and pretty much were giving up on him.

Which is also what we saw (& he surely felt, making signing the offer sheet a no-brainer) in their handling of him, so no surprise their.

To be fair, he would have surpassed that the last two seasons if they were not cut short by Covid.

Not how I comprehended that. Bergevin basically said that he is not a flop but we wanted another 2 years to find out where he lands. But not at $6.1M. So no, we were not valuing him like Suzuki at this stage but nobody is.

I'm glad someone asked that question and I like his answer. I feel they will avoid it now... player needs to look better than "Don't look out of place". Have less holes and a stronger pool with good patience helps that process.

Well, Canes pretty much are, don't you think?

Over the last two seasons Dvorak has scored at a 45 point pace. He played 70 games in 19-20 and 56 in 20-21.

I think he can easily do 50 points with top mins and wingers in Montreal as even Desharnais and Danault could do it when placed in a position to succeed. Dvorak is a better offensive player than both of those two

not happy about losing Koko obviously but the upgrade to Dvorak really fills a hole for us at 1C

Savard replaces Weber. Hoffman is WAY better than Perry,, were in good position

10 years of watching the same mediocrity of management might have a bit to do with it :dunno:

The moves and strategy we had last year and results does not show mediocrity so you are reaching on that. I'm assuming you support letting Danault go? I think the mediocrity narrative is getting weak in recent years.

Just admit it... you don't like the guy and don't care about what we do until he is gone. I can respect that more than reaching on things

Interesting that he also alluded to other problems with KK that they noticed over the last few years and that going back to Finland for an extra year would probably not have changed much

MB also said the return of the OS is better than what Carolina was offering in a trade scenario. I don't know if it's true, but Friedman did say that the return in a trade was somewhat similar to what they got as a compensation.
