If Murray catches fire down the stretch are the majority of Leaf fans okay with him getting the start in the post-season or is it pretty much a lock for Sammy for that spot?

It would be an amazing story line for Murray to lead the Leafs to the Stanley Cup final after pretty much everyone has written him off.

Ideal situation is that both Leafs' goalies are playing well. But players gotta have some confidence in their goalie making a huge save so whichever goalie is HOT will take the net. There are 14 games to go till the playoffs start not sure if Murray has enough time to "catch fire"; but then again goalies are voodoo anything is possible with them

Ilya Samsonov, who made 32 saves in a win over the Carolina Hurricanes on Friday, did not travel with the team to Ottawa as he is dealing with some minor injuries and he and his wife are expecting a baby, TSN's Claire Hanna reports.

With the team in front of them, aside from the elites like Vasy, Shesty, Sorokin, etc I think Murray and Sammy has as good a chance as any other goalies to catch fire and win a cup. Takeover potential is there for both and no one would be surprised.

That includes the Boston tandem imo.

When it comes to goaltending, the Leafs are bringing a knife to a gun fight but anything is possible.

Nothing the media does determines how many pucks Murray stops or not.

Murray has let in 4 goals in 5 straight games now, which is the worst stretch of his entire career to date.

Can't blame that on the media, that's on Murray. Lets hope he turns things around soon, or we will see Woll take his backup job.
My post didn't mention anything about how many pucks Murray stops.

It was with regards to the way the Sens media members are acting. I apologize if my post was too difficult for you to comprehend.

Not just the Ottawa media. The fans and his former teammates as well.
Fans are supposed to be emotional. The media isn't. Kind of similar to mods on a message board.

like i said goalies are freakin' voodoo nobody knows when they will just flip the switch on. Good examples in recent memory are:

Binnington with the blues when they won the cup

for you as a sens fan you would be well aware of Hamburgler run (Hammond) and then Craig Anderson run when sens made the ECF; what was he like 35-36 yrs old?

Leafs' trouble has not necessarily been goal tending because opposition goalies have allowed weak goals in the playoffs too its just some leafs fans don't acknowledge that because they think every Leaf shot is unstoppable and every opposition shot is stoppable.

Leafs playoffs issue is "scoring". As long as the Leafs score goals regardless of the goalie in net they will be fine. Leafs post season will come down to how well the forward perform i.e. Matthews-Marner-Nylander-Tavares-ROR (when he's back).

Unless Samsonov/Murray completely shit the bed; even with average goal tending Leafs should power through in the playoffs IMO as long as their forwards score goals (including depth scoring).

Not sure if you were including something from a poster I have on ignore but what makes you say this ??
Nope. No posters. I can't blame fans for wanting to see a player that sucked for them continue to suck. That's normal.

Just mentioning the likes of people like Bruce Garrioch, Marc Methot, Shawn Simpson and Wayne Scanlan openly hoping for things to go bad for Murray on Twitter.

Nah it’s stupid either way. Criticism is for the player, not the person.

Some people are not just hoping for things to go bad for Murray, some are literally hoping he gets an injury tonight so they can say “haha”.

I’ll be the first to criticize him for his play as a Senator but it’s just ignorance to keep actively trying to pray for his downfall in any capacity let alone an injury.

People need to learn to LET GO. It’s f***ing weird.

It’s gotta be one hell of a run imo

He’s been consistently outplayed for 60+ games. Keefes not just gonna forget that based on 14 games, but if he goes full Hamburglar mode posting insane stats than maybe game 1 could be his

But i doubt that happens so I’m guessing we see Samsonov

this is game 69.

I imagine we might have another two or three games of Keefe trialing things out before we start to see a more formed lineup game to game in preparation for the playoffs

So it looks like Murray is fine. Hopefully the Woll callup is to give Samsanov the full day off otherwise I'm concerned he's hurt.

I think this should haopen more often. You should never pull your #2 in a blowout game to put your #1 in when there's no chance of winning. Give the third string a nothing game.

All of this time and they wait until their alternative is putting Simmonds in the lineup... I'd rather have Gustafsson play again.
This might be a message speaking to Leafs forward depth that Simmonds and McMann are Leafs #13 and #14 forward on the depth chart with ROR and Accari out and they being the first back in as replacements to dress 12 F.
