Back to backs feel underwhelm to watch. I feel we have mentality of things we're allowed to not be good at and slack off if we wish . Second game of back to back seems to be one of those things. Even when we win them I see lots of bad habits

Hopefully they got rid of thinking 2-2 split after game 4 is some sort of achievement to celebrate.

We have generally been really good on the back end of back to backs this season.

If Murray catches fire down the stretch are the majority of Leaf fans okay with him getting the start in the post-season or is it pretty much a lock for Sammy for that spot?

It would be an amazing story line for Murray to lead the Leafs to the Stanley Cup final after pretty much everyone has written him off.

The net is Sammy's to lose, he's been phenomenal. 18-2-2 at home this year. He'd have to have a stretch of some horrendous games to lose the net to Murray IMO.

Salaries suggest Murray is the starter, but actual play, Sammy has been borderline elite. I'd put him around the top 10, or top 12 goaltenders this year.

Honestly could see McMann playing higher up the lineup, I assume the 4th line is ZAR - Kampf - Simmonds, could be wrong though.

Could see something like this:

Kerfoot - Matthews - Marner
Bunting - Tavares - McMann
Jarnkrok - Lafferty - Nylander
ZAR - Kampf - Simmonds

but who knows?

Also simmy "simmonds" might play beside tavares tonight cause they are best friends and he is tavares's right hand as they call it with the team. Lets see. They might have some fun with this tonight. Lift their spirits at the same time with filfs.

His defensive stats are up there with the better shutdown D in the league so far and unlike a guy like Holl, McCabe also passes most folks eye test as well and all for 2 million for a long time.

The guy really does look as advertised. I suppose you can try to go after him for not providing more offense but I think he's been great in his role and his 58% 5v5 goal differential I can live with the rest of his contract for sure.

I can't give the refs a pass. An accidental trip is a trip and a penalty. An accidental blow to the head is a blow to the head and a penalty.
The difference would be subsequent league penalization or not.

I'd say it's a bit different. That qualifies as 'incidental contact', however unfortunate the result.

The goaltender and the Senator Dman plus several of the Avs and Senators up ice had already stopped skating thinking it would be blown down, I was also one of the other 18000 or so in the building who were fully expecting a whistle. No one saw either of the linesman waving it off and no one heard the "NO ICE NO ICE PUCKS LIVE" call that under most circumstances accompanies it.

Like the changes. Since Simmonds is on the NHL roster, have to play him eventually so back to back makes sense. McMann gets a game which is good. Gio gets a much needed rest. Wouldn't have minded Gustavsson staying in but it's fine.

Nothing the media does determines how many pucks Murray stops or not.

Murray has let in 4 goals in 5 straight games now, which is the worst stretch of his entire career to date.

Can't blame that on the media, that's on Murray. Lets hope he turns things around soon, or we will see Woll take his backup job.
