Clifford is dog shit and so is Ritchie. Neither player would have prevented that from happening. Sure Clifford might have punched a face afterwards but Ritchie sure as hell wouldn't have. He is big for nothing.

The Ritchie situation is what it is. Clifford should be dressed for such a game though in my opinion. You simply need SOME weight in a game like this on the road, no matter the difficulty of getting them in.

Kase is 5'11 and Z is 6'5
THere's absolutley no he cannot hit him and not get his full body or every part of Kase's body

ALso, watch the hit in real time, not in slow mo

How about you just watch the hit. The first thing to move on Kase is his head, therefore, it's a headshot. He also drives up, through the hit, as opposed to driving through the hit. Zadorovs body moves upwards before contact is made.

I believe they are not playing due to cap reasons

But even at that, have them in the bench if the game goes out of hand. Just beause you dress them doesn't mean you have to play them
You can play them at need to play basis

A lot of teams still play that way

Leafs are just not built for this brand of hockey. Hopefully the beat them up on the scoreboard with skill but you don’t want to get pushed around either. I would say that’s an unfortunate result of a good hit with a big guy. Let’s see how they come out in the 2nd.

It was just one big hit... Let's pump the breaks. Pretty sure the Leafs carried the majority of the play despite that and they were on the PK almost half the period.

Clifford is ass and should never see another NHL game for us. He is not even physical anymore. He has had chances to stick up for us this year and usually it ends up being Simmonds who does it.

He brings no positive value, and a whole lot of negative value.

Leafs had 4 PKs and still owned the period.

To be fair, Calgary played last night, but the only thing concerning about that period for Toronto was bench penalties.

Based on Rielly's response to the hit, I'll be surprised if the Leafs don't come out with a more physical approach in the 2nd. That's one of those moments that a team rally's around.

Kase is 6’ he’s not “small” zads has been in the league long enough he should know how to use his body to take guys out. If that included headshots cuz he’s unable to do so legally he needs to be punished for it.

Watching the Calgary feed and they just showed Mario L scoring the winner in 87. Bob Cole with his "Ohhhh Baby!". Bob was the best.
