That may be the wildest the rock has been, only to ECF 6 2012
Ain't that the truth.run be damned, the metro is still a tough division -- we can't forget that
Fair enough, but that's a BS rule regardless lol. Absolutely useless.i quoted the rule in the thread
the puck can't deflect off "any player, goaltender, or official" from the kick, so sure -- the kick wasn't towards the net, but any subsequent deflections (not a stick) didn't matter
Wait...seriously?i quoted the rule in the thread
the puck can't deflect off "any player, goaltender, or official" from the kick, so sure -- the kick wasn't towards the net, but any subsequent deflections (not a stick) didn't matter
Got to love Lindy
That was the right call by the rulebook. The league is just impossible to watch because what the rulebook says doesn't even matter most of the time.Fair enough, but that's a BS rule regardless lol. Absolutely useless.
Leafs sat on their own dick for 40 minutes. We deserved this game regardless of our 1st.I'm sorry, but spending the first period sitting on your own dick like the Devils did this was bound to happen.
Still first in the Metro. Do better in the first 20 next time.
Yeah, I said it at the time, Bastian could've tipped it before it crossed the line but seemed to hold up to not be seen as a greedy guy, and it cost us the goal on the weird interpretation of that rule. I get it if Haula kicked it toward the net - but he didn't. It bounced off of two Leafs (D and G) and in.Wait...seriously?
Has that portion of the rule been around for awhile?
I never knew that.
And it's utter bs as the Devils player (i think it was bastian) was trying to GET OUT OF THE WAY.
There should be Intent written into the rule as an exception.
What a bogus call which ended up costing the Devils at least one point.
My issue is that 6 points can quickly get whittled down to 0 points real fast.
Maybe it's all that PTSD from all those losing seasons but I feel that not being able to AT LEAST get a point to stay somewhat further ahead of the rest may come back to bite us.
Next game against whomever it is(I am too annoyed to check the schedule right now) is a must-win(or rather a must-get-two-points-at-all-costs) game.
And yeah....the 3 disallowed goals were pure ASS calls but it's Toronto so I expected shenanigans.
That's actually insane. Guys can be proud. They played a good game and deserved better.
The rule says you can’t use a kicking motion “to propel the puck into the net.” To me “using a kick” to “propel the puck into the net” isn’t just physical causation, it includes intending the kick to drive the puck home. Reading the rule as a whole, I think that’s a reasonable interpretation. I don’t know that the league has issued any definitive guidance. Clearly that wasn’t how Toronto interpreted it tonight. The rule doesn't care what direction or who it hits if the last action is a kick. It was the right call.
The interference on Bastian is probably the worst one. If that's the 3rd goal instead of the first, they probably don't even waive that off. Murray was barely touched, had time to reset and was able to fully extend.
Tatar's play was just handled poorly. They didn't clarify their decision. If it was interference it should have been a penalty.
wait is this legit
This. We went down swinging.i'm so tired of the specific calls tbh
end of the day, i'm just glad it wasn't a cowardly loss. THANKFUL for this team and where we've ended up. and thankful for everyone here for making it insane and fun every day, and giving me a place to waste away for a few hours each week
