I'm guessing it's only 1 game because McCann only missed a few shifts and played the rest of the game. Even if there was intent to injure (I don't think Mangiapane was actively trying to injure McCann, just made a ridiculously dumb decision), he didn't actually injure him.

Ras concussed Laine and he still ain't playing.

Crosscheck to the head
Clear intent to cause brain/spinal damage

1 game.

I support any player that embellishes injuries

1 game is what it would be in the playoffs and with the Flames 4 points behind the 8th seed, this is probably the closest they come to the playoffs the rest of the season. DoPS took ot easy on them.

He got off lucky here. Maybe they viewed this as Mangiapane trying to give a shot to the back that went wrong/slide up, but at the end of the day it doesn't matter if the intent was to actually target the head as the result here looked pretty bad, and could have been a lot worse by Mangiapane's action.

OEL only missed time due to concussion protocol and zero games, and McAvoy still received 4 games. That cannot be what Parros decided upon.

George Parros is a legitimate danger to the players in this league

He makes the NHL less safe every day he continues as the head of the DoPS

The sooner he resigns the better for the health of every single NHL player

The inconsistency of the supplementary discipline is almost as inconsistent as the on-ice officiating or off-side reviews. It's never consistent. And the league doesn't think they have a problem. :l

They must know the problem. They fear the problem and therefore despise feedback.
