Because they have actual leaders that can shut his ass down? You think he would behave like this in like Boston?

Leaders get more credibility if the team is winning or at least having a purpose. After 8 years of Benning plus one of Rutherford there is no leadership that could make a difference. Yzerman, oilers/Rangers messier and Bergeron combined couldn't lead this mess.

Is Ted Lasso available?

Somehow decide that:

Stillman was worth acquiring.

Studnika is worth one of our only RHD prospects.

Lazar is worth a 4yr deal (even if AAV isn’t high).

There is lots to complain about but this is just wrong...

Stillman wasn't worth shit besides being a roster player. Stop counting him as some big fail. The Fail is coaching playing him.

It doesn't matter if he is one of our only RHD prospects if he sucks. He was a 5th rounder who hasn't done anything at the point of the trade.

Lazar... its not a risk at all if you can throw him in the minors at anytime and not have consequences.

Managements biggest error so far has been re-signing Boeser and Miller.

I never said it was their biggest mistakes.

But part of their job is to address the team “brick by brick”

Their bricks have not stuck.

The value given up for run of the mill (some less so) players who could have been had for free is atrocious management.

Bear might be the only acceptable one but even then it was a player Carolina was not playing and looking to deal.

They have been a disaster from top to bottom. Big transactions and small.

So far they have been terrible.

Again this is wrong... You can not like the direction, but value for value this is just wrong. I don't think they have had any great trades either except the Hamonic trade. I am a big Bear fan so I will disagree there, but I except my bias.

Pretty sure you are accepting your own bias. Clearly.

And value for value I’m right. 100%.

But I’m biased.

If Mackenzie Stewart was our only RHD prospect and we traded him for a guy like Studnicka would that also be bad because he was one of our only RHD prospects? Like, this premise assumes that there's quality in our RHD pipeline, which there isn't.
Yes cause Studnika was trending to be waiver fodder.

Plus Myrenberg had been tracking fairly well.

Much rather have a 19yr RHD than a run of the mill 4th liner you could pick up for free.

From the outside looking in, it seems like this room has zero leaders in it and guys are just YOLOing every game.

I wonder how the f*** to fix this.

Hey, Stewart is only 27. Defensemen take longer.

Me too. I would also trade him for a higher cap hit, shorter term deal. The most value in a JT Miller trade is not having an 8m cap hit in 7 years.
I replied to some main board thread with a half retained each Miller and Schenn to Toronto at a combined $3,050,000 before prorating. The return would be Toronto deals with the new contract. 🙃

It’s the Internet. We just say stuff.

I would even take a loss in a Miller trade. Anything to get out of that contract. Literally nothing, future considerations would be better then keeping him.

Absolutely. It is the best thing for the franchise. That is brutal optics, and basically a fireable offence, for Rutherford and Allvin though, so I doubt they do it.

I’m holding out hope, however, since it would be a major positive turning point for the franchise, in my opinion.

I would immediately have much more respect, and hope, for this front office.

This is Aquilini all over again.

He won’t rebuild because he wants to be a winner and has no idea the support he would receive from doing things right.

He is more concerned about firstnamelotsofnumbers on Twitter laughing at their mistake, when the team would receive a lot of praise from people whose opinions actually carry a little weight at the toughness it takes to own up to something and correct it.

I just don’t know what their doing… I dont think they know what their doing. It makes zero sense to re-sign Miller and let Horvat go. Their against a rebuild but screwed themselves cap wise and don’t have pieces in the system to fix the holes. It’s a big mess with no direction, they seem to be hoping they can make the playoffs and become a Cinderella story which is just annoyingly frustrating as a fan to watch.

Management primarily. They have the real power. Demand better of themselves, of the players. Remove the malcontents. Back the coach to hold them accountable. Bringing in untainted players, especially youngsters.

Set a direction. The plan to aim as high as being able to dip in and out of a wildcard for years is garbage. What are the veterans buying into other than depression.

I came to a very sad realization today. I’m not sure if everyone here will get this, but I think it makes sense anyway. The Vancouver Canucks, my favourite team, are a non-playable character, or NPC, in the NHL world. Nothing we do while Francesco Aquilini is in charge matters. We aren’t one of the teams that are actually competing for anything. We are a background franchise. We are the mindless background characters in video games that the player behind the controller doesn’t even interact with. Or NPC. Every year we have the same shortsighted plan executed to(barely) varying levels of success. And that’s what we will do next year. And the next. Cause that’s what the NPC is programmed to do. And that’s how our management is programmed from the top on down.

This is the part where you clearly aren't correct.

How is it not true... from the beginning of the season we heard management wanted Rathbone to play and our coach played Stillman.

I think taking him back had more to do with making the cap ceiling perfectly than anything else.
