People discount time at roughly 15% annually. What happens in 2028 is 38% as important as what happens now.

The best part about this deal is that even if Malkin misses 20 games a year going forward, $6 million for what he'll provide is more that fair for that. $6 million in UFA gets you a 2nd line center who will give you like 55 points a year. I

That's why I'm glad Hextall did end up caving on the 4th year. Even if Malkin misses a lot of time due to injuries, he'll still very likely be playing up to this contract. If he's healthy, he'll be vastly underpaid.

i still believe they want a center. i still would not be shocked if they went after Trocheck.

I think it would be an excellent move and would at the very least give us some insurance.

Might be the perfect guy to just b/c if he does want to come back home they may be able to make it work a little easier.

If the top 6 can round out like that I would be pretty impressed and about as excited for a season as I can remember
