I forgot that's what people to to the game and see is the scoreboard, oh wait no it's the ice that is the most important.

Do you work for MSG?

Sure sounds like it!

haha, that was my first thought too when r86 started posting about the bridges. Gotta be some connection there. Regardless, I think the bridges should be no big deal for the lower rows (14? or below). Anything above remains to be seen and will probably be awful at the top

His mistreatment of Cablevision employees is a well documented matter. You can look it up.

I heard this straight from someone who works at the Garden -

2 seasons ago Dolan walks up to the Delta Club and tries to stroll right by. The girl manning the door asks to see his ticket. Dolan flies off the handle, screams at her "DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM???" and fires her on the spot. The next morning Dolan thinks better of it and rescinds the order and she got her position back

Case in point right there. Spoiled brat born with a platinum spoon in his mouth thanks to his father. He's never worked a day in his life I can guarantee you that. I'd hate to be his lawyer handling employment suits. Poor guy probably got dozens of wrongful termination suits on his desk thanks to Dolan suffering from head in ass syndrome.

That's good for business, no?

2 seasons ago? Didn't this (or I guess an exact similar thing) happen during the Knicks/Celtics game this past April? It was reported by the NY Post.

I see you voted for romney.

That agreement is illegal or at the very least goes against the spirit of what America is all about. The government should not give preferential treatment in these matters. I anticipate a rebuttal along the lines of the city receiving something in return to let him off the hook with the taxes thus not making it preferential. I cannot see what Dolan is giving the people of new york city in return for not paying taxes on 2 entire square blocks of the country's most expensive real estate.

His mistreatment of Cablevision employees is a well documented matter. You can look it up.

It is not illegal at all. Besides, if he is forced to pay real estate taxes, it is not going to come out of his pocket. Some of it will be made up by what he saves in income taxes as real estate taxes are tax-deductible against income taxes. The rest? He'll either cut other expenses such as payroll by either cutting salaries or hiring less seasonal people when the arena re-opens. Or, find a way to increase revenue by raising ticket prices, concession prices. Either way, someone would be getting screwed and that someone would not be Dolan.

I'd love to be that guy. Guy is probably making several million dollars a year off Dolan if what you claim is even remotely true.

Well my friend told me about this during the 11-12 season, so take it for what that's worth. From everything I hear Dolan can be a really unpleasant guy to work for
So? There are lots of people out there who are unpleasant to work for. You either deal with it or quit. I am sure at least 90% of the people on here had bosses that were not exactly a pleasure to to deal with. Not sure why or how tremendous wealth or a stock price that has tripled means he has to treat his employees better.

Yes we get it, if you ran a company you'd be the biggest dooche on the planet and you'd expect your employees to be grateful. Congratulations

I inherited my Dad's business the first thing I did was fire 3 people, get rid of spousal health care, and chop a weeks vacation. You know what? They thanked me for it. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, I make sure to pick someone out and yell at them for no reason other than it makes me feel good. My company has never been more profitable.

So, I agree, there's absolutely no correlation between treating your employees in a courteous and generous manner and increased worker production and satisfaction.

Not what I am saying, at all. I just find the whole argument to be comical and just another part of this sense of entitlement people tend to have nowadays. Like I said, I have had bosses who I hated and bosses who were great. The ones I hated I dealt with until I found something better. One particular was a job in college. Hated the guy and the woman directly above him. I honestly would not have peed on either of them if they were on fire. If they showed up at my house today because their car broke down in a blizzard, I would slam the door in their face. Was a lifeguard at Hofstra. I dealt with them because, 1) there was a lot of downtime, so I was able to get most of my schoolwork done on their time 2) pool was open from 6:45am until 11pm, and we always had 5-7 lifeguards on duty, so there was a lot of opportunities to pick up extra hours. 3) Was able to also work other events for Sports Facilities, bball, football games, baseball card shows. However, by end of school year I had had enough of their b.s. So, left for summer job (which was the norm for most of us), and then went and worked somewhere else the following school year.

I think a lot of higher-ups in the marketing and tech industries would disagree with your last sentence, as "lax" working environments and employee generosity has been studied and directly linked to increased productivity.

To each his own.

Fred Wilpon, by all accounts I've heard, is the nicest old man you'll ever meet. Clearly being nice doesn't translate to on-field success.

I dunno about you guys, but Dolan could publicly torture his employees for all I care. As long as he continues to supply Sather with the resources to put together a winning hockey club and otherwise stays out of it for the most part, I'm happy to have him as an owner

Only 3 people? Why the big heart? As an owner of a small business I look at employee situations like this. If I could bull whip them into being more productive I would, & I would enjoy it. I treat them all as cattle who I nuture & will than at some point have to slaughter. I have a couple of loyal "dogs" but dogs age quickly & sadly have short lives. Basically what i'm trying to say is that everyone is repalceable. Even me. Some more so than others.

Once you accept that fact into you're life you will be doing just fine.

Anyway, LGR.

I imagine you suffer from tremendous attrition and spend a lot of time and money constantly recruiting and training new employees to fill in your ranks like a game of whack-a-mole. Treating employees like (god forbid I say it) humans, because after all that's what they are goes a long way. Just because you can get away with being unfavorable doesn't mean you should. If you continue your rampage don't be surprised if it bites you in the butt someday.

I helped one of my former bosses find a job when his business went under, he was one of the nicest softest spoken and generous owners I've known. Conversely when I was asked to return to an old position because my former not-so-nice-guy boss couldn't find a worker who was as professional and punctual as me, I told him thanks but no thanks.

Look at the correlation between workplace morale and productivity. It's not an inverse proportion.

If Dolan were to hypothetically commit human rights violations or "torture" his employees I'd burn my Rangers jersey in protest. I'm not (and neither should anybody) be so blind to the real world and fervent in their fanaticism to allow what is just a game to trump what really matters.

Well i'm a small business owner & not currently looking. But I can be wooed if te right oppurtunity came along.

My screen name has nothing to do with the punishment of baby's. When My significant other & I found out she was pregneant, which was a huge shock to both of us, she had just completed her first trimester. So the first sonogram picture we had was of my son at just about 3 months.

In one of the pictures he looked just like the symbol for the Punisher. I commented on that while the nurse doing the sonogram was in the room & that he looked like a baby punisher. My chick had no idea what I was talking about, but the nurse preforming the sonogram told me that she has 3 sons & she knew exactly who I was talking about & that she would never be able to look at a 12 week old Sonogram or her kids comics the same way ever again.

Hence, BABY PUNISHER!

My comment(s) were meant to be sarcastic. I honestly thought I was hitting the forum upside the head with a proverbial sarcasm brick.

BTW Congratulations!

I know. I just figured I would put it out there since a few people have asked or implied what my handle was about.

Thanks! He is so much fun! The best baby ever.
