At least we got an experienced coach. He is a players coach great, but little playoff success in 16 long years.

Korn is one of the best known goalie coaches in the league. Would be a good addition.

I don't mind the Trotz hire, but the McLellan hire is questionable. The team has stagnated over the past couple of seasons, partly due to roster degradation and party due to player regression. A primary reason for optimism with a new GM (at least for me), would have been a fresh perspective within the organization on why, exactly, things have played out that way - and what can be done to fix them. I worry about the ability of someone within the organization to play that role. I also worry that there weren't many outside of the organization who could fully sell what they seemed to want to hear - which is that they can win the current roster (barring minor tweaks).

But - put me in the reserving judgment camp. You're on the clock MacLellan.

I cant say I know anything about McLellan or any of the other GMs people wanted but I have a few questions. How much does Ovie play into the decision of promoting McLellan instead of a outside hire? Would a outsider think we need to move him while McLellan still wants to build around him? Would one hold him more accountable then the other and see different value in him? Like I said I have NO clue, only been a fan for 4 years now and its my first time trying to follow the off season stuff, but is that something that played a factor in the GM hire?
