You make some good points... who knew Snowblind watched so many 2014 Oilers games?!? Kudos!... but the only pick they really struck out on was Yakupov. We would all be orgasmic if Laf or Kakko were Hall & RNH.

And yes I'm sure the 2014 Oilers weren't entertaining, but my point was they weren't supposed to be or expected to be. Our delusional fans thought we were competing for a Cup this year because we have a new coach to unlock the kids & Panarin shaved his head. Sigh...

I used to think the usage was just delaying the eventual breakouts. But now I’m coming around to the thinking that these guys are duds. Still early. I’ll give it some time.

Yeah, guys, I'm starting to think they're just not that good.

When did Kakko ever produce off the page? Finland ain't the NHL. It was certainly a logical explanation at the time that he was playing against men. Turns it's just because he's mid.

Lafreniere produced off the page in Junior but he stopped developing at 16.

Kakko has very good skills but no offensive instincts at all. Lafreniere is extremely slow processing the game at this level. The biggest factor in making the jump from non-NHL to NHL hockey is in the brain. They don't have it.

While we are bashing Kakko and Laf for only having 1 point through 4 games, no skater in our team still has more than 2 even strength points.

5v5 scoring is a team issue.

Probably the only guy not really called out in the top-6 has been CK.
But again, fairly or unfairly, Laf and KK were meant to be 'the answer'. You don't get picks that high very often (unless you're the Oilers) and they were meant to be the two who the team would build around to be competitive. Neither have shown any sign that they are kind of pieces you build around. That's not their fault, you can't blame someone for not doing something they can't do, but people are going to vent their frustration, especially when it comes to sports

That’s funny from the Preds shrugs. How are the Rangers still doing the No Quit slogan, come up with something new?
 
I’m not concerned. It’s game 4 of a new system. I figured they would be so-so for the first 20 games this season.

Y’all choosing the funniest posts of the night like it’s some high school vote on the other hand….
 
I only watched the first, just here for the early season overreacting. I predicted October would be a dud, players learning a system, coach learning about players etc. I'll reserve judgements for November.

call up the Sens. Pinto. They have a plethora of young forwards already at the nhl level maybe they will trade Pinto? IDK
