Good that Komisarek does not have it. He should be bought out.

Lupul is a good choice and Grabo would have been my second pick.

If Mac is a good fit for the job then why not.

The rumored Frattin + 2nd asking price for Jonathan Bernier, is looking pretty tantalizing right now. I like Frattin, but the hard truth about it is that he's already 25, and his peak potential is probably a 25 goal 45-50 point winger.

Bernier, whose also 25, could be a franchise goalie, could be a career backup. His peak, is much higher than Frattin's, and is much more needed here in Toronto, then Frattin's is.

He's paid his dues, and his stats have always been pretty spectacular. Even in the NHL.

Jonathan Bernier Just wants to Play

I actually like this move a lot. Mac has a high compete level and some feistiness, something the Leafs are lacking big time. A Carlyle kind of move imo.

Lack of fluency in english. He's kinda hard to understand sometimes.

^This. One alternate from the first line. One from the second. Lupul a no-brainer. MacArthur...fluent English? Sure, why not.

MacArthur, the Canadian ambassador of line deux.

Lupul for me was given. He gives great interviews, was very high draft pick, and seems respected throughout league for what he went through injury wise. Plus he's a fan favorite. (I personally would give him the "C", but that is another story)

I don't get Mac getting an "A". as stated by others...you never know what he brings to locker room. Plus he gives a decent interview which is good for owners of media.

Kessel I'd never give a letter. Give him as little pressure as possible, and he'll be good. Stress him out with extra duties, and you may throw off his game.

I honestly dont mind Kessel wearing an 'A'. Hes not a very vocal guy and hes obviously a bit awkward, but he is mature, he certainly works hard, and like it or not, hes one of the faces of this team

Maybe this will ensure Mac is worth a 1st at the deadline. Somewhere in the 15-25 range, where we can nab Max Domi.

Mac is one of those guys thats starting to garner hate for no reason it seems. Happy for the guy, I just hope he doesn't become a scape goat for Leafs fans

Lupul is no surprise however

Grabo may deserve one but i bet he doesn't really like all the media pressure it comes with an A on your shirt, all the interviews you have to do when you lose... I dont mind Mac, he has played well enough (back to back 20 goal seasons) i just dunno how much we can get for him as i see him more as a stop gap

This what i'm thinking, enhance Mac's resume

They're not going to make him an assistant captain to trade him for more.

If thats the actual asking price, I'd do that trade without hesitation.

Forget Mac - Frattin should be on the team.

"Hey MacA can you tell the coach that its going to be coincidental minors - oh thats right you're the one in the box"
Mac had 37 minutes in penalties in 73 games 16 games of which he had penalties in and only 4 games he had more than 2 minutes(he also had a fight). If you're going to complain, get your facts straight.

Frattin had 25 minutes in penalties and played in 56 games. He could have had more penalties in minutes and fewer points than Mac had they played the same amount.Lets also not forget that Mac is ONLY 2 years older than Frattin

Sorry but Mac>Frattin

If Mac was sticking around I'd pick him too, so I guess he is... Good choice. I was surprised he got it cause I didn't think he'd be a mainstay, but he's a class act and a good leader.

I can't speak to that but he seems to have paid his dues. All I can say is it feels a lot smarter to give it to an established type than handing the responsibility to a younger guy who has enough to pressure to deal with. ((a la previous admins)

Oh yeah, I don't think the kids really deserve it.
