Berger (when with the FAN) always said CMac was a strong voice in the room. Not too surprised. I was thinking it was going to be Lupes and Grabo though

Interesting. Not what I guessed at all with Mac. Does this up his trade value? Showing him as a valuable leader on the team?

I think fans put too much stock in these letters on the front of the shirts. I imagine it makes little difference to the guys in the dressing room.

Always thought it would either lupul, grabo or liles. Guess MacA is vocal, and lupul is the obvious choice. Hope we resign him so that I can buy myself a lupul jersey.

Forget Mac - Frattin should be on the team.

"Hey MacA can you tell the coach that its going to be coincidental minors - oh thats right you're the one in the box"
That's flat-out wrong. He had 37 PIM's in 73 games last year. 2nd-last of our forwards who played as many games as he did...

Anyone else think it should have been Lupul and Kessel?

People with As should be willing to step up and call people out. Both Kessel and Grabo lead by example, but don't really have the voice, confidence or eloquence to address the team and nurture rookies.

As should be:
1. vocal on the bench and in the dressing room
2. capable of professionally addressing the referees
3. able to handle the media and be effective representatives of the team

Both Grabo and Kessel, while leaders by example, are not able to accomplish the above tasks.

The good thing is that theres obviously a lot of leadership in the room. Good choice by Carlyle giving it to Lupul imo.
