The Wild are almost an ideal spot for an offensive talent. He should have no problems getting top 6 minutes

would you play him over Coyle, Nino, Parise, or Granlund?Probably not, though a lot can change by 2018-19.

I'm hopeful about all of our prospects, but there are very few sure things.

Wild is one of the few teams that truthfully deploys top9 instead of top6. Parise,Koivu and Staal are all on different lines which makes sure each line will get ice time. Kaprizov will get to play with good players if he can force himself to top9. It won't be easy though.

They do actually have a lot of offensive talent in their top 9 at their Wings

Charlie Coyle is on pace for 61 points 29 goals 31 assists

Nino Niederreiter is on pace for 55 points 21 goals 32 assists

Mikael Granlund is on pace for 55 points 19 goals 37 assists

Jason Zucker is on pace for 16 and 30 and 46 points (hasn't been playing top 6 all season)

and they still have Parise.

It's likely that Nino/Coyle/Zucker could all be 25-30 goal scorers and all are only 24.

They also have talented 1st round forwards Luke Kunin, Joel Eriksson Ek, and Alex Tuch (on pace for 20-25 in the AHL) who will be on the NHL roster before or around the same time as Kaprisov.

But Kaprisov could slide nicely into a 3rd line role with more minutes if he pans out.

The Wild have more offensive talent than people think.

I think with so many solid NHLers and no obvious stars they will play 3 or even 4 scoring lines, so all forwards will have chances to score.

Since it sounds like KK is a guy who is not just a shooter, but also a passer, he will probably be able to adjust his game to suit his linemate. If he plays with Granlund, he's a shooter. Some other players more of a passer/ shooter.

In two or three years, Koivu, Pominville, Stewart, and Staal will all likely be gone. I can see KK playing bottom six for the first year with the likes of Ek, Tuch or Haula, maybe Greenway and Kunin, which isn't the worst thing.

Him spending another year in the KHL is probably the best thing for him and the Wild. Let him get strong, mature, and confident so he can hit the ground running when he comes over.

As expected, was the best forward on Russian team. Didn't look that great, but scored a goal and had a couple of good plays. On pace for 2PPG after a terrible game, so there is a chance he'll improve his PPG in the next games.

I thought he looked very good, especially in the offensive zone, but he did not have a lot of help. he seems to specialize playing below the end Red line, and down low in general. Very comfortable and decisive handling the puck down there, and squirts to the front of the net very quickly when he doesn't have to puck. He reminds me of Parise in that regard...a squat little guy who is at home around the net... But seems to be shiftier, and a better passer.

Remains to be seen how much he can handle physicality. He has no problem with the juniors, at least. Seems to be built low to the ground. Sort of Marcel Dionne like.

He seems to come alive in the offensive zone. I can remember all sorts of things he did there, but can't remember anything from his play in the D or neutral zone. Not saying he was bad, just can't remember a damn thing.

Some of his zone entries were smart and very good. The rest of the Russians were uncharacteristically awful in that regard last game.

3 goals + 2 assists against Latvia
Over 2 Match 4 + 3.
Maybe someone knows who the best bombordir among Russian youth team for a WJC and how much he scored?

yes 9 points in one game, that was just a ridiculous performance. However didn't he only manage like 5 more points in the rest of the tournament?Or am I not remembering correctly?

He scored 9 points vs Latvia and 4 points (3+1) vs Canada, that's all. Kaprizov already has 2 games with points. If Russia gets to the final (which is pretty possible), and Kaprizov is a PPG for those 5 games left, then he'll have 12 points. I think, he will score more.

Possible, but not extremely likely. Canada outplayed them pretty badly last night, despite the score being relatively close, and I believe the U.S Team is better than the Canadians, while the Swedes are very strong as well. I'd rank them behind those three teams.
