You really can't ask for much more from him. He may have elevated himself to be a tie for #1 going into the draft, and it might come down to has the actual pick, as to who goes first. Does that team need a winger, or a C more? A team like Edmonton, could very well pick Laine at this point. A team like Toronto probably has a greater need at C.

The earlier draft rankings and NA posters here seems to affect peoples judgement, and the fear of seeming like a finnish homer plus the fact that no finnish prospect every has been that impressive at that age.
