He reminds me of Mark Stone/Jason Robertson player.

I think if Boldy plays at a point per game pace through the Wild's remaining 41 games he will seriously be in the consideration to be a finalist at least from a forward prospective. Zegras and Raymond are both at .78 ppg, although I think it's hard to top Zegras with some of the plays he's made this season. The league is in good hands with these kids

If Boldy finishes ~ 50 points in 50 games, then he for sure is a finalist.

This is what happens when you take a highly skilled youngster and put him in positions where he can succeed offensively. Second-line ice time, 70% OZS, a position on the top powerplay unit and commitment to letting him adjust his offensive game to NHL competition even if he makes a few mistakes along the way. Now Boldy is not only primed to become an elite player, but he’s contributing meaningfully to Minnesota’s playoff chase today. That’s how it’s done!

Somebody needs to pass this on to LA and NY…

Dean Evason also empowers these players. Such a players coach. He doesn’t care if these guys make mistakes, he just wants them to continue to grow.

Very unlikely, though. There are very few rookies that play at PPG pace for 50 games. If he maintains a 0.7 PPG pace over the rest of the season, that would be fantastic.
He is not going to win the Calder.

There are signs that his 9 points in 9 games are unsustainable too. His current oiSH% is 16.2% which is much too high. Plus, he's been handed a juicy PP1 role for the last few games and there is no guarantee it will last.

There is a guarantee this lasts. There is not one reason to remove him off that unit.

The eye test for him makes it seem pretty sustainable, maybe underperforming even. Guy generates great looks and forces lots of offensive zone turnovers. Excellent at controlling areas of the offensive zone and opens lanes up all over the ice. Really special talent, he sees the ice differently than most players in the league, in the upper echelon for hockey IQ and his career is just beginning.

I find what he's doing super impressive but those who think that he keeps his current PPG pace over the rest of the season are going to be disappointed.

Obviously it's safer to take the under on that bet. But if you're gonna stick your neck out and bet on a guy, he's a good choice.

When the top PP stops producing, there will be changes. Or if he has a few bad PP showings himself, he might get moved off it.

The PP wasn't really producing all season. Seems like they've been better since Boldy has been there and Fiala moved to the second unit.

If the top unit starts to have issues, he will not be the first one moved off. He clearly has too much creativity to take off of it and the coach was quoted saying he is a PP guy so he will play on the PP.

I will say that it’s more likely he stays on the top PP unit for the season if he remains healthy than he’s a PPG player for the balance of the year.

Boldy has 10 points through his first 10 career games and counting. He and Fiala have found instant chemistry. Sucks that Fiala will most likely be gone after this season for cap reasons.
